We were on vacation last week- I wish we were still there! We went to Gulf Shores, Alabama. We actually stayed between Gulf Shores and Ft. Morgan so we were out a little ways (and loved it there). We left on Friday, May 4th when Ryan got home from work. We drove past Nashville a little ways and got a hotel room for the night.
The boys on the way--- Corbin insisted having his "pet" in his seat like bubby had his pillow lol!
We slept in awhile on Saturday morning and then got up and went and ate breakfast at a Waffle House there by our hotel. While we were in there it started pouring rain. I was dreading getting soaked and then riding for a long period of time (we were parked all the way across the parking lot!). When we went out a man was walking in with a huge umbrella- he offered to walk us to our vehicle (and even stood there while we got Corbin strapped into his car seat!). I just felt like he was a little angel sent to us by God-- who cares about our littlest need (and probably knew a soaking wet family on a long drive was not going to be a happy family!). I can't say that I would of been nearly as nice as that man and shows me I have a long way to go on being selfless!
The boys did great on the ride and we were there before we knew it. We stopped at Walmart before we headed to our condo which was about 10-15 min. out of town. We got there just a little after check-in time so it worked out perfect! We unpacked our groceries and then headed to sink our toes in the sand for a awhile and let the boys run some energy off!
Walking out to the beach :)
Corbin has learned to smile on command (finally), but his face cracks me up!
B was ready to just jump in- clothes and all.
That night we just went and looked around the resort area and checked out the pools and all the amenities and made ourselves familiar. We had supper at a little restaurant there.
The boys were ready for bed pretty early so I finished unpacking all of our stuff and Ryan and I just hung out.
The next morning we ran into town and looked at some shops and picked up a few more things we had thought of.
Being goofy in a store
We got back and headed straight to the beach for the day. We were beach bums all day and loved every second of it.
Corbin lovessss the sand and the beach!
B loves the ocean and spent most of our trip with this net getting shells out of the ocean.
He had a blast (and we came home with entirely too many shells!).
Corbin played and played and played with his truck and the shovels.
Another "cheese" :)
It worked out perfect b/c Ryan can't sit still at the beach so he loved shell hunting with B and I love to sit and read and just listen to the ocean and so I hung out with Corbin in the sand.
I can't say that Corbin has ever been SO CONTENT to sit and play as he was at the beach!
I told B this looks like a Baywatch picture- he had no idea what that was though, lol!
He had to have a juice break of course :)
B did take some time out to dig a hole-- Corbin thought putting sand down brother's pants would be fun (he did that all on his own and we were just cracking up at him!).
Thankfully his big brother is a good sport about things like that!
B dug a hole and then Corbin took over it lol
Showing off a shell he found
C really enjoyed jumping in the hole!
Then B wanted buried so momma got to work and we buried him :)
C thought he needed to be too (so B and I covered him up a bit and he was satisfied!).
We stayed at the beach until time to go take showers and get ready for supper.
We went to the Oyster House/boardwalk for supper-- it was yummy! With B's fish allergy eating seafood was challenging- we had to make sure they had things he could eat (and that the chicken wasn't fried in the same grease as the fish)... It worked out every night though!
More to come!
