We Have a Hole!

Thursday they were supposed to start digging our basement... so my bestie, Vanessa and I ran out to the property on our lunch to see it... only to find no hole, just a machine... BUT the machine was actually exciting enough for me!

so of course I took a picture with it :)
Friday they started the basement and so after the Catfish Fest. we went out to see the progress...
my boys walking to see the hole!

Ryan, B, and my dad talking about something super important I'm sure :)

My boys and I on our front porch :)
okay, okay, where our porch will be!

Corbin and I on the porch :)

Brycen is already in love w/ the dirt piles :)

I have a feeling I should take up stock in Shout stain remover :)

Johnny (our excavator) was sweet and took B for a big ride and let him help dig a few times all by himself!
This was sooo exciting for Brycen and something I hope he will always remember- that he helped dig the basement :)

digging :)
Saturday after soccer we went out to see the finished product!

this is the view from where the walk out will be

from where the garage will be

side opposite of the garage

to some it may just be some dirt and a hole in the ground- to Ryan, the boys, and I-- it's our dream coming to life!

Lovin' Soccer

Soccer is so different this year... I was worried that a bigger field, longer distances to run, and more competitiveness might make Brycen really not like soccer... last year he liked it, but he wasn't thrilled about it... I was sort of surprised when he said he wanted to play again this year. But so far (after practices and 3 games) he is LOVING it! I can't speak enough kind words about his coaches. He LOVES them... and they are such good people. They are great with the kids and just so nice. After last Saturday's game it amazes me even more... They don't yell and scream and our kids still do great. I am so thankful B got on this team. It's another reminder to me that God places us just where we need to be. Brycen does not do well with screamers or people who get upset easily- it just frustrates him and then he gets upset so I don't have a doubt when I say God knew he needed these coaches and this team. The parents and other players are just as wonderful. I am loving this season so far and hope it continues to be so amazing. We are 3-0 so far... and that's fun, but it doesn't matter... I'm just so thankful the kids are having fun and learning so much!

B playing goalie- he has bronchitis and needed a break from running.
He surprised me and did really well being goalie!
He normally isn't aggressive, but he did a great job and I was so proud.
Telling Coach Ryan big stories... :)

wiggling his tooth (the one that fell out) while waiting on the other players to get on the field.

While playing goalie he stopped a couple goals- I love this action shot of him throwing the ball back out.

And I am also grateful for his ability to make friends where ever we go!
This is his buddy Hunter (who is a year older than B).
They didn't know each other before (even though I know Hunter's whole family)... and they are just great buddies now!

Uncle Dan

If you have read my blog for very long you will probably remember me talking about Uncle Dan a lot. He is my grandpa Richard's brother. They live in AZ and usually come home for a little over a month each year to visit.
Uncle Dan and Aunt Barb are now in their 80's... they have been having some health issues and we weren't sure they would be able to come back for a visit this year.
We were SOOO thrilled when we learned just a couple weeks ago that they would be making the trek back and staying from the end of August until the beginning of Oct.
Brycen was especially thrilled.
You see- he LOVES his uncle Dan.
They are best buddies.
And now that Papaw Richard is in Heaven- Uncle Dan means even more... to all of us!
They got in Friday evening and met us out at the property.
Brycen RUNNING to see them.... dead sprint. Can't even tell you how excited he was.
This just brings tears to my eyes.
LOVE IT.

Uncle Dan and Brycen.
I am so thankful for their very special relationship- that even thousands of miles can't separate.
All throughout the year Brycen mails Uncle Dan things and talks to him on the phone.
Them making the trip out here means the world to us all... and especially to one very sweet little boy.

Cousins & Birthday

Hailey Brooke & Corbin
Mya Faith & Corbin

on the 22nd we went over to Phil & Marilyn's for lunch after church.
these two girlies just LOVE "the baby"...
it's so cute...
especially Miss Mya- she just can't get enough... and he is as big as her! Literally! haha!

later that night for supper we went to my parents to celebrate my dad's birthday.
Corbin loves to play toys now!

Brycen giving my dad a birthday gift from him and Corbin.
we really got him some accessories for the "hot rod", but they weren't in yet so B wanted to give him something.
he wrapped it himself... in kleenex w/ masking tape ;)
it was precious and he was so proud!
Papaw loved it!

Petersburg Catfish Fest

Friday night we went to the Catfish Festival in Petersburg- the local Jaycee's club puts it on every year and they have yummy fish sandwiches that I can't pass up and of course B loves to ride. Usually we meet his best friend Joey at about every festival so they can ride together- this one was no exception.
Corbin is so good and just rode in his stroller- but he really kept looking at those rides like he wanted on... He is such a wild man I'm sure next year he will be riding!
Arri Jackson (my boss' son), B, and Mabry

Brycen getting ready to go down the slide-he stucks his tongue out to concentrate (you notice this in a lot of soccer pics too).

B & Mabry
I couldn't get him to smile for anything.
He is her protector at school and on the bus.
They are like brother and sister.
Kennedy and Brycen.
He is still hung up on her.

I love how much he loves life!

Joey, Paige, Brycen, and Mabry

Joey, B, Mabs, and Arri

They all had so much fun and just rode and rode and rode. I'm so thankful that my boy has such good friends (that have good parents). I pray that this continues to be the same story throughout his school years (and life).

Lost & Found

This little sweetie lost his 2nd tooth Saturday.
It had been "hanging" and by hanging I mean that literally in his mouth for about a week, but he would not pull it... He was eating supper Saturday and it fell out!
He was so funny, he was like, "um my tooth just came out..." and went on eating! haha!
Also, on Saturday Corbin's 1st tooth popped through finally! Friday night I noticed there was a little hole, but couldn't see a tooth, and on Saturday we could! I can't get a picture though- he is too busy running his tongue over it- you have to hold him down practically to see it, but he really likes you to feel it! haha!
Brycen joked that he lost his tooth and Corbin took it :)
Brycen looking to see if the tooth fairy came...

And She Did! :)

Work & Dirt

Seeing all the fun my 2 (well 3 counting Ryan) boys are ALREADY having at our new house makes all the hard work and time worth it! They love it there.
B on the rock pile for the basement rock... I didn't get one of him on one of the huge dirt piles but he went up and slid down for a good hour w/ out stopping, not saying a word, I've never heard him be so quiet!

Corbin also loves playing in the dirt... he was FILTHY by the time we left... we also had dirt all over his car seat and every where else you can imagine! But he had so much fun! He had been dying to get down and explore every time we go out there and I finally figured "what the heck!".

This was before he got to get dirty-- he was happy just being outside!

But this def. made him happier!
Yah, I'm pretty sure he might of ate a little dirt... surely that won't hurt him! lol

and this guy is such a helper- such a worker!

We were all sooo dirty by the time we got home (thankfully we went there in Ryan's truck!) that we all had to have baths/showers before we could even eat supper!

I am loving this special time of "work and dirt" with my boys!
Today I'm wearing a skirt to work- just to remind myself I can be a little girly sometimes ;)

Less Trees = More Sun

I don't know if you remember earlier pictures I posted of our land, but it was ALL woods... Ryan has cleared out this spot (doesn't look too pretty now b/c all the stumps and junk), but it will be gorgeous when it's all finished, I'm sure!
Ryan has spent pretty much all his time out here lately cutting down trees.

That stick is the front where the front corner of our house will be

He LOVES being out there in the woods with Daddy. If he can't go he cries :(

Looking back towards the front of the property- this will be our drive way
The excavator is coming on Thursday (still not holding my breath, but having an actual day is good) to redo the drive way from the road (we are moving it and widening it from where it currently is) and to dig the basement. Holy cow- I can't wait to see that progress! That means early next week they should actually pour the basement... I think it will all seem a lot more real to me when I see them doing something (besides cutting trees). I am so proud of all the work my sweet hubby has put into our property though. I know sometimes it annoys me that he is in the woods ALL the time with his chain saw, but I appreciate it so much and I know his hard work and long hours he is putting in will pay off! It's so fun to see how excited B is each time we go out to take Ryan supper. Ryan is taking the day off to cut down the rest of the trees he needs to today- I'm praying for his safety in the woods today. He thinks he is on that show "Ax Men" haha! :)

splash park & soccer game

Last night (Friday) we went to the splash park for awhile before we went out for supper. We weren't hungry early so we took B and Corby and went to the splash park. Ryan and B had a blast... Corbin still isn't too sure about water spraying everywhere- he likes it... from a distance! haha! We strolled around and watched them though. Then we went out to eat at the new sit down restaurant in Petersburg (Smokehouse 423). It was REALLY good! Then we came home and went on a family walk... B rode his bike and I pushed Corbin in his stroller.
That is one thing I enjoy about living in town again- the ability to take a walk very easily!
This morning we woke up to rain and Brycen was supposed to be playing soccer at 8:30. We went to the fields, but it just kept raining harder so it did get cancelled. We came home and Ryan went out to the woods to finish cutting down trees and to burn stuff while B and I organized his toy room and I did laundry (Corbin napped). Then he had another game at 11. That game happened and it was fun! Brycen is much more agressive than last year (although he still isn't terribly agressive).

Kel had just scored a goal and she was telling Brycen about it.
I think their expressions are priceless!

Corbin was tuckered out from all that soccer playing :)
Don't ya just want to squeeze him?!
I do!
Ryan had to miss the game and I know he was upset about that, but they are digging the basement this week and so he HAD to finish cutting the trees today! He got done about 4pm and we went to Jasper and ate at AppleBee's and went to Home Depot to look at house stuff again and to Wal Mart to pick up a few things.
I am exhausted and should of been in bed 2 hours ago so off I go!
