Phone Pics

I really hope I do better getting my camera out in February! I took a couple pics w/ my phone last night though and thought I'd post them.

Corbin got these beads at Brycen's school carnival a couple weeks ago- it cracks me up b/c he wants to wear them ALL the time! He also wants the rest of us to wear them, haha! He also has marker on his head b/c that's just how he rolls :)

Here is a picture of Brycen's head last night (about a week after it happened). Looking better! I told him it just makes him look tough! :)

Can't believe it's the last day of January. Where does time go?!

January

I haven't gotten my camera out much in January- so that means a lot less blogging for me. I do have a few fun (and not so fun) ones of B!

He started his karate classes on January 5th. He is really enjoying this and doing really well. Not only is he doing well w/ the athletic part of it- he is doing well w/ the mental aspect of remembering all the names of the moves/positions!

Brycen & his good friend (also our neighbor) Trenton before their first class.

Such a cute little man :) just love him!

My grandma got Brycen this jacket a couple years ago- it was too big at the time and I hid it away in a tote (b/c honestly I think it'd hideous, lol).

Well while I was going through some totes Brycen saw it-- ughhh! He insisted on wearing it to school one day (that was all I would allow- haha mean mom I know).

A "harley dude" he calls himself :)

with the shades too- he's so cool, haha!

Last Tuesday the nurse called me and said Brycen had a scrape and was in a lot of pain and asked if she could give him tylenol. I was like sure, but wondered why he was being a weenie about a "scrape" , when he got off the bus I figured that out! OUCH!

He was running as fast as he could and a little boy stepped on the back of his foot and tripped him (face first on the concrete). His hands were also really beat up. (excuse Corbin's diaper bottom in the picture, lol).

Side View of his poor face.

His big scab just started coming off last night and it was a BIG/deep scap that's leaving a scar (not a terrible one, but you can def. see it). I'm putting cream on it and hopefully that will help diminish it!

He also has a really loose tooth just hanging that he will NOT pull out. That just drives me crazy! Hopefully it will come out this week!

I can't believe I don't have an pictures of Corbin. He runs away too fast :) lol

1st grade Christmas Party

Somehow I skipped over these pictures of B's class party when I posted all over our Christmas festivities! I didn't want to leave them out though so here they are a month later, haha!

Brycen Hunter

We had Krispy Kreme donuts & ice cream and pop- wow, they were on a sugar high!

B, Nolan, and Peyton- silly silly boys!

Brycen & Nolan- best buddies!

Playing games in the classroom

they had to pick up candy packets w/ a clothespin and take it to a bucket- whichever line finished first won and then we passed out the candy

we also played "pin the star on the tree" and a "pass the present" (like musical chairs) game.

I saw so many desks that were A MESS w/ papers and everything crammed in and falling out so I had to go check out B's desk and was impressed to see this :)

Maybe my incessant organizing and cleaning has rubbed off on him!

23 Months

I wasn't planning to post a "23 Month" post... but this morning my "baby" looked so big and was chattering up a storm and I told B, "Can you believe he'll be 2 one month from today?" And Brycen said- "No, I think I'm going to puke, my brother can't be TWO!".... that made me rather nostalgic this morning! I can't believe he is going to be two... TWO! That's really not a baby anymore... and I have to quit counting his life in months.

He is SO rough. B has always been all boy, but Corbin he just takes it to a whole new level! I think a lot of this is that him and B play together so much and wrestle do other boy things like that together and B is seven and Corbin is (almost 2) so it makes him hold his own more... where at that age B was rough housed so much b/c it was just him. Whatever the reason he is definitely the roughest little boy I've ever met!

He can destroy a room in 2 second flat and I'm not exaggerating!

He does seem to have a great memory. While I'm folding laundry he will pull out each item and say "Daddy's" and put in a pile and "Bubba's" and put in a pile etc... for each item! Ryan can't even tell half of our family's clothes apart so this is pretty impressive to me!

He really likes to "draw" and "color". It's one way I can get him to sit at the bar for a few minutes while I try to get supper going. He did write on the wall in Brycen's room for the first time this weekend though :( (hopefully the last time!). Thankfully, it was in pencil so I could just erase it!

He already loves guns and loves to shoot Daddy's buck that hangs up on the wall. I remember B starting to do this-- it just seems like yesterday!

The boy LOVES to eat and drink. He's going to be as tall as me before kindergarten at this rate!

He loves to be outside and this warm winter has been perfect for allowing us to still enjoy time outdoors. So glad for that!

He loves to give Bella treats and will scream until we let him if the back door is opened! Poor Bella is going to get fat with all the treats she gets!

He likes Chuggington now! He got some Chuggington trains and tracks for Christmas and loves to "pay choo choo" (play choo choo) :). Brycen still likes trains and Chuggington as well so this makes for a good activity for them to play/watch together.

He does pretty well at sleeping in his big boy bed now- he has been sneaking in our room most mornings about 4am, but I can't say that I mind the morning time snuggles before my alarm goes off because he is a MAJOR Daddy's boy and I have to take all the snuggles that I can get.

He hasn't gone on the potty yet, but numerous times he has said, "I wet", and I've felt him and said, "No, you're dry- do you need to potty?" And he said "No". From now on I will take him straight to the potty because I think this has happened 4 times that he's somehow got his diaper half off and peed through his pants and made a huge puddle of pee on the floor right after that!

These are just a few things about our boy at 23 months that I thought I should document for myself. Next month is going to be emotional with our boy turning the big T-W-O!

Random & NYE

I was off the two weeks over the Holiday's. It was such a nice break and so nice to be home with the boys!

We call him the destructor...

He bit a hole in a water bottle and squirted it EVERYWHERE.

Such a mess he is!

But oh so sweet too! I love how he loves to fall asleep on the couch with us!

Liv had given Brycen this blue hair gel last summer.
I had only let him put it in the day she was there.
He wanted to again and gave himself a mohawk! lol
He says he is a rockstar!

We watched lots of Christmas movies :)
Corbin thinks he ALWAYS needs the remote, lol!

New Years Eve we had some great friends over to hang out :)

Brittany and Kenzlie, Chelsey and Blake, Vanessa, Tyler, and Zane, Me, Brycen & Corbin

Zane and Corbin hugging :)

The kids all played so well together and even stayed up to bring in the New Year!

B & Ty changed into their pj's before they left for home :)

B is about to drive me crazy with all these hand gestures and crazy faces he wants to make for every picture I take anymore!

We had a fun night and introduced ourselves to the game Apples to Apples. Everyone stayed until around one so I was dragging the next day, but it was so worth it to spend so much time with such great friends!

Christmas- Part 4

Christmas morning we got up like usual and went to my parents for Christmas there. We ate breakfast and then opened gifts. :) I didn't take nearly as many pictures this year b/c Corbin needed a lot of attention :) haha!

B with his new drums. Seriously Mom, what were you thinking?! lol!

A new wii remote he wanted.

Corbin got a new Colt's jersey and he just HAD to put it on- hilarious!

Corbin opening his big gift.

A new sand and water table!

So cute!

I love how he is sitting here!
Helping Pop put together the table- lol!

This gift was for both of them- it's a gas tank!
It's really neat- a lady we know made it!

Mom had laminated some fake debit cards with their pictures on them etc...

Once again I have no pictures of Ryan or I with our gifts- we got lots of goodies too though!

We stayed until lunch and ate and then watched some home videos.

We went home and Corbin took a nap while the rest of us tried to sort through the wreckage of gifts! Ryan burnt a lot of boxes while I unpacked gifts and tried to put some stuff away.

That evening we went to Tony & Lisa's for the Sims' Christmas. We had soups and snacks there (my fave!). We visited and visited and visited some more.

Renee and I

She rode with me in the ambulance when I was born and had to be taken to Evansville to the NICU :)
We share a love of pictures, reading, and all things nerdy :)
Love her!

My (gorgeous) cousin Ashley :)

Love her!

The boys each get a few small gifts that they always look forward to!

We had a wonderful Christmas with family and celebrating Christ.

(The reason for the season!). :)

Christmas- Part 3

Christmas Eve for lunch we went to my mom's for Christmas with her Dad's family. I didn't get my camera out one time! Oops!

We went home and let Corbin take his nap and Brycen play with some new stuff. Then we went to Candlelight service at our church that evening around 5pm. During the quiet candlelight service they had a slide show playing w/ different pictures of Jesus and the nativity one with baby Jesus Corbin started YELLING "JESUS, JESUS, JESUS!" lol! I let him play with my small nativity at home and he would pick out Jesus and we'd talk about him so that's why, but oh my word- he was so loud!

With Christmas Eve being on a Saturday all of our "events" were at different times. Lol, We had Subway for supper and then went home to open our gifts at home.

Poor Brycen got TWO notes in boxes this year! lol

This note is for his karate lessons.

His uniform was supposed to come in in time for Christmas so I could wrap it up, but it didn't. He starts lessons tonight. He is so excited!
He has been wanting to for a couple years, but no where local had them.

Perfect timing!

Their other note was for both of them- their main gift from us were Holiday World season passes. I wrapped up swim trunks and wrote a riddle of a note for B to read. He is SO excited about that gift!

This silly counting cookie monster has been one of Corbin's favorite gifts! He says "in the backback (backpack)??" lol B/c when you put the cookies in his mouth they go in a back pack on Cookie Monster's back.

We had a nice quiet (as quiet as it gets with two wild boys) evening playing and putting together their things. It was a perfect Christmas Eve evening!

Christmas- Part 2

On the 23rd we went to Ryan's parent's to have Christmas with their family. We had pizza and snacks (yummy cheese ball) for supper. Then opened gifts and visited.

Mya and Corbin- they were so cute!

Corbin was really into opening gifts this year!

I just couldn't get over how big he looked opening gifts!

Brycen with his new gun- he is so proud of it.
Makes momma a nervous wreck of course, but he only shoots it with Daddy's help/supervision- and honestly he is a very careful (barely) 7 yr. old... I would trust him more so than a lot of older kids.

I first said NO way to a gun when Ryan mentioned it. I thought he was too young, but Ryan convincend me that the earlier we teach him gun safety and drill it in his head the better...

He also got a Kindle Fire-- lucky duck! :)

I don't have any pictures of Ryan or I with our gifts, but Ryan also got a new gun (how many does a person really need?!) and I got a Silhoutte Cameo!! I'm super excited, but have been too scared to get it out of the box! I'm overwhelmed by it, lol!

Mya and Corbin playing Mya's new game!

Corbin's "big" gift was a wagon and the boys have been enjoying it in the basement already! We will get plenty of use out of it this summer!

Christmas- Part 1

My boys in their Christmas pj's a week or so before Christmas :)

Silly Corby!

Sweet Brycen

The 17th we went to Martinsville for my mom's mom's family Christmas.

The boys in their cute Christmas shirts :)

We had a small catastrophe on the way there. Corbin grabbed a hold of the bread pudding topping in a container and dumped it all over himself and the seat and my mom's purse... oh what a mess! The only extra outfit I had for him was the oldest sweatsuit we own, haha!

My cousin's little girl, Laila & Corbin

Ryan and I

My cousin's little boy Logan & Brycen

Our family with my mom's mom and stepdad

We were trying to get a picture of the great grandkids, but Corbin was NOT cooperating! lol

We weren't there too long so it was a long drive home b/c Corbin had a lot of energy! lol.
