Arts Fest Field Trip

Friday I took off to go on Brycen's field trip to the Arts Fest. It was stressful. I've only been on pre-school field trips before and they were not stressful in the least bit-they were fun! The kids all had fun on this trip, but I think each adult was about to pull their hair out! It was at the park in Petersburg. The Arts Fest was going on and they had inflatables... It's a huge wide open space to try to keep track of all these kiddos... It was K-5th with Petersburg, Otwell, and Winslow elem. schools all being there... that's a lot of kids!

Xavier, Joey, Brycen, and Braden
(The 4 boys I had in my group)

Brycen got to grind up some corn :)
They also got to get face paint (as you can see from this picture...) thankfully it came off very easily as soon as we got home.

All the boys in my group wanted snakes- eww! :) I love having boys, but some of their favorite things (snakes, bugs, etc) are not all that exciting (and even sort of creepy) to me!

I was thankful for gorgeous weather (a breeze to keep us cool). It only started to sprinkle as we were boarding the buses to leave. Brycen was WORN out from running around all day!

Big Splash

Last Friday we went to Big Splash at French Lick to stay the night. We met up with our friends Shannon & Chadd and their little girl Kianna and also Ricky & Brittany and their kiddos, Kaden and Kenzlie. We got there that evening and ate supper and just all hung out in Shannon and Chadd's room talking and having fun. Brycen was excited to have Kaden there who is just a few years older than him. Saturday morning we got up and ate breakfast and went to the water park for the day. Both of our boys loved it and had a blast. Ryan and I had fun too :)

Such a sweetheart! (this was in the room Fri. night)
Corbin in the baby pool- he just sat and chilled :) such a good boy!

Shannon and Ki, Brittany and Kenzlie, Corbin and I

Corbin Fisher

Brycen Hunter

love this face.

blurry- but he had such a good time!

his lips were literally blue when we left!
love this boy.

I'm thankful we're squeezing in these last few weekends of fun (we're camping this wk/end at Prides Creek) before we have to start working on the house in all our spare time. Although, thankfully the kids enjoy that too! It was fun to spend some time just chatting w/ good friends who are great people. I love them all :)

House Update

My front door (that I really really love).... not a good picture b/c of the sun, but you get the idea
this door goes out from the laundry/mud room and will go out on a back porch that will go across the back length of the house (right now it's a huge drop b/c the basement is open on this side)... makes me sick to look out that door right now lol

main part of the house standing in the dining area looking into the living room area

our house!
This week nothing exciting is going on out there... We had to go mark every where we wanted electrical outlets and our light switches and all that so that my dad can get our electrical stuff and get started on that... and Ryan has been dealing w/ the water company (they have to boar under the road to get our water back there) and they are supposed to be starting on that ASAP... so neccessary stuff, but nothing that is exciting to me! lol. (it was sort of fun picking out where to put the electrical outlets b/c i was picturing where i was going to put certain stuff).

Family Pictures & Casondra

We got our family pictures taken last night by Mandi and Andre! They did a great job! I LOVE the pictures and we had a lot of fun with them- no stress (and pictures really stress me out). Seriously, B was cheesing it up and loving it (as usual)... Corbin decided to not smile at all (except for like 2 pictures)... he wasn't unhappy, he was just VERY.SERIOUS. lol. as soon as we left he was all laughs and smiles again. Such a booger! I really wanted fall family pictures and we had missed getting C's 6 month pictures done so we did it all in one. Go check them out :)
Tell me your favorites, b/c I know I'm going to have a hard time choosing (I love 76 for a family picture).

Tomorrow I'm going with B's class to a field trip at the park. It's K-5th grade and county wide (the three pike county elem. schools). Should be interesting! I hope it's fun for them... They are having the arts fest and 20 inflatables and grilling out- so I'm sure the kids will have fun... Also music I think. Brycen is so excited! Corbin's 3rd tooth is getting ready to pop through... crazy! This week has been stressful and tiring so I'm glad tomorrow is Friday.

My friend Casondra (who started the community blog I'm doing) had her breast cancer surgery today (double masectomy). It's been an emotional day... She asked me to keep her facebook and blog updated through out the day and I said I would (I wanted to help in any way that I could). It was emotional waiting for updates... I prayed so hard for her today (and the past months). Everything went well, but it's going to be a long road ahead for her- so could you guys keep her in your prayers? And her family... she has four young kiddos and a husband and she's a doer... she's the one that takes care of everyone... and it's going to be hard for her to ask for help and let people help, but she has to take care of herself (and she knows that). She is an inspiration to so many and her love for the Lord really has been shining through during this time. Maybe you could go drop her a line of encouragement (and I'm sure you'll be encouraged by her blog if you visit)! She has a way with words and moves me with every post! I'm blessed to call her my friend. I love ya girl!

The Rest..

I told you about Friday already... so here's the rest of our weekend... nothing too exciting! Saturday morning my alarm didn't go off. Thankfully, Corbin pooped and woke himself up (I know ya'll wanted to hear that right? haha) so we did get out the door on time for soccer pictures that were before the game, but it was close on time! My boys like to sleep in so they are no hope in being alarm clocks! ha! We made it to pictures and then had B's game. We're now 5-0!

After the game we came home and I worked on laundry and house stuff... Brycen went to ride with my parents in the car parade thingy in Washington and go to the cruise in while Ryan, C, and I went to Jasper to Home Depot. We had our showers/tubs picked out for a long time now and when we went to pick them up yesterday they had upped the price by 200 dollars! INSANE! So we decided against buying them b/c Ryan thought we could find better prices (even though we had already price checked things, 200 dollars was probably going to break that deal!). We didn't leave empty handed though b/c we had to pick up our door that we had picked out! (I am in LOVE with my front door that I picked out) :) We came home and watched another movie. B didn't get home until 9pm and then he and I went to bed early!
Today my alarm didn't go off again... seriously, are you kidding?! I don't know what's wrong with it, but obviously it's broken! ha! We had to buy a new one today. We hung out this morning and then had my cousins' birthday party today at one. B loves to play w/ Kylee and Ashlyn so that was fun for him. Just small and very close family so nothing stressful. We left there and headed to Evansville. We went to Menards for a good two hours (so thankful for good boys- they were both so patient). We had so many more price checks to do (so thankful for a husband who is very strict to a house building budget and on top of things, but geez!). He looks a lot online, BUT I have to see things in person... Anyway, we were able to get our tubs/showers for the original prices we had thought so that was def. good! We also hit up Lowe's for more price checks. I am worn out and my brain hurts from all the looking, discussing, looking again etc... lol. It is fun, but man, I didn't realize how many little decisions there are AND one decision leads to another decision etc... It's not stressful to me really, but it does wear me out!
We just got home a little bit ago and I now I'm headed for bed... not looking forward to getting up at 5in the a.m., but I am hoping my alarm works! haha!

House and Movie Night

Friday after work I had to go get a new cell phone, because mine bit the dust. It always takes forever in the Verizon store in town at the hardware store, but I love those people. The homecoming parade was going on out on main street so B got to watch the parade and get candy while we waited :) He was dying to go out to the house so we came home for me to change out of my work clothes and we went straight out there to meet Ryan.

And this is what we saw when we got there :) We have a subfloor!
This is standing in the master bath.

It was hard to get good pictures of a flat surface. They all looked the same.
We planned on only being out there a little bit, but we were there for almost 2 hours.
Ryan took 2x4's and layed out all the rooms for me so I could see everything a little better.

We told Brycen he wasn't going to get dirty that night...
hahahaha, that was a joke!
I told Ryan I don't think we can take him out there and expect him not to get dirty.
We were there almost 2 hours and he still wasn't ready to leave.

And here's a picture of C, just b/c he's cute :) haha
His arms are double jointed (like his momma's)...
It kind of freaks people out sometimes, ha!

After we finally left out there we went and rented movies for family movie night and picked us up some fish sandwiches at Fish Hut. We came home and took baths and showers and proceeded to cuddle on the couch and watch movies. It was the PERFECT Friday night!

Enough

I just did my first post over on the community blog... Hope ya'll will go read it and maybe it'll touch someone else like it did me.

Lumber

I never knew a stack of wood could make me so giddy :)

B begs every day as soon as I pick him up to go out to the house. We do normally go pretty much every evening, b/c there is always something Ryan needs to do out there (last night it was cut something out of the concrete?!). I have no idea really... I know he had a big tool that was sharp and he was cutting concrete, haha! I'm clueless... He looked like he knew what he was doing though, thankfully! ha!
They delivered this lumber yesterday afternoon I guess... I didn't take my camera b/c I didn't think there would be much of anything different than the night before, but man this pile of wood made me ExCiTeD!
This little man LoVeS "the property"... I wish you could hear him say it b/c it sounds so cute :)
Corbin just squealed (and when I say squealed, I mean shrieking at the top of his lungs) the whole time we were there too. He wanted down... lol. He gets so excited out there... I don't know what it is, but it is cute. I didn't get a picture of him b/c I was holding him.
Ryan is off work today and out at the house so he can make sure and tell them where we for sure want some windows and doors that we are just now making our minds up on... oops. lol. Plus, I think he really just wants to be out there b/c he is so excited! I can't wait until lunchtime... b/c you better believe I am going out there... high heels and all :)

7 Months

Yes, Corbin is 7 months old now (as of the 9th)... No, I haven't taken any 7 month posed pictures... Yikes, I am really bad at this now! haha! Oh well, I do take plenty of pictures of the boys! Just wanted to remember a few things about C at this age...

*Weighs 19lbs 5oz and is 28 inches long (75th for both according to babycenter.com)
*Wearing size 4 diapers
*Wears mostly all 12 month clothes... he can still fit into a few (and I mean very few) 6-9 month clothes.
*Really enjoys his walker now
*Really really into playing with toys while sitting up (He thinks it is a sin to lay down to play!) haha!
*Trying to get all of B's stuff already (making momma a nervous wreck about small pieces, etc... b/c everything goes straight to his mouth). I.e. yesterday we were looking at B's school papers after we got home and Corbin was sitting on the floor beside us... I look over and he is eating a school paper! oops! haha!
*Can't pull himself up, but wants to stand all the time. If you stand him up to something he will stand there forever.
*Can get from sitting position to belly all by himself now (just in the past few days he is doing this). He really wants to crawl, but just can't figure out how to get everything to move at the same time!
*Sleeps from 7:30 until I get him up at 6:30 (during the week) then he takes a good morning nap and afternoon nap at the sitter's.
*Eats four 6 oz. bottles and a 4oz. bottle at bedtime. After his morning nap he has a fruit and for supper he has a veggie (and if still hungry another fruit).
*Has started saying momma consistently now as of Saturday! Whoo hoo!! Melt.my.heart!
*Reaches and grabs for anything in our hands (i.e. cups, phones, food, etc)... whatever we have, he wants!
*Loves praise baby dvd's... Our sitter (my cousin's wife) has these for her little girl Kaydee (4 months older than C) and he is just obsessed with them... He just loves the music!
*Not a huge fan of loud noises or crowded places (def. gets this from his momma). I appear to be a huge people person (and I am...), BUT I'd rather be in a small intimate group setting than a huge crowded place... C seems to be the same way... he gets over whelmed I think.
*He is really a happy happy baby unless he is tired (and then he wants nothing to do with being rocked, he just wants to be put down and left alone... he goes right to sleep on his own then) or if he is hungry... and if he is hungry there is no making him happy until he has a bottle or food in his mouth!
*Still thinks his bubba hung the moon :)

I can't believe he is already past the half year mark and on our way to 1 year... I hate it that he is growing up so fast, but each new thing that he learns or each time he interacts with us more and more it just melts my heart and is so exciting! We are trying to savor each moment b/c they are all so sweet.

Book Giveaway

Head on over to that new blog I was telling you about and leave a comment to be entered into the book give away :)

We are doing a book club sort of thing and giving one away :)

Weekend 411

This picture wasn't from the weekend, but I wanted to put it on here for myself.
This is one of B's favorite places to play (under the table). He has always lined up all his cars and trucks etc... he does this for hours at a time!
Ryan caught him in action and took a picture for me!
Friday after work we rushed around and got ready to go to Hunter and Jordan's engagement party in Owensboro.
Corbin and Brycen weren't too thrilled for momma to be snapping their picture before we left (after I had rushed them around getting them ready to leave!).
I took about 10 and this was the best I got! haha!

My little goober! I love this boy so much!

Corbin was cracking up laughing at B on the way there.

We rode with my parents in their suburban so we could all ride together so I got to sit in the back w/ my boys :)
This boy can't be serious anymore!! :)

Their party was so much fun and even though it was a rushed trip down and back it was nice to visit w/ everyone for a couple of hours! They are such a fun couple and I love them both to pieces. Jordan is like a little sister to me<3

My oldest friend... Livy Brooke. We met in pre-school then our mom's became best friends and then our entire families became best friends. They are def. more like family now.

Brycen, of course, made a new friend- Ruger.
He is such a cutie!

Playing w/ Stevie Macaroni (the dog) lol
Saturday I had to get up early and go work concession stands for soccer before Brycen's game. I was dreading it, but it turned out now to be too bad (besides the icky weather).
B was not real into his game Saturday. I think the weather threw all the kids off!

I have no idea what he was doing out there!

Saturday evening we went to Princeton and went to Menards for more house stuff. We also went to eat at the mexican restaurant down there for our anniversary supper, hehe! Then we went to WalMart to do our weekly shopping there. I have to say that the WalMart experience there was much better than most. It was not crowded AT ALL. Ryan and I both commented on how empty it seemed in there. It was nice though b/c that's what I hate about WalMart! (well besides that I spent too much money there, haha!).

The boys and I standing in our garage. It's not completely backfilled yet, but a most of the ways!
We went out to the property yesterday to let the boys play and to enjoy the gorgeous weather!

B playing on the front end loader thingy.

Corbin and I
B playing in the mud :)

He had mud EVERYWHERE!!
That's what little boys are supposed to do right?!
We went to my parents for supper and to visit with everyone for awhile. I really love seeing my Uncle Dan and Aunt Barb so much. We are missing my brother though... he went to college a month ago and hasn't been home since :( Working a lot and doing well in school!

Corbin really likes to play with toys now!

He was laughing at Aunt Barb

You can see Corbin's 1st tooth that popped through really well in this picture.
His 2nd tooth popped through Thurs. night I believe.
He just looks so much older to me now!
It's hard to believe he is 7 months old now!

Love this little guy!
I have to brag on him a little bit!
Last week at school they implemented their behavior system.
They have to pull cards for things like talking when the teacher is talking, now following instructions, just everyday classroom rules.
He did not have to pull any cards at all! I was so proud of him!
On Friday he got a purple mark- this is only given to students with outstanding behavior that follows all the rules without having to be told!
He then got to pick out a reward!
I'm just so glad he is such a good boy at school.
I know he will probably have to pull some cards (I know I would of had to for talking when the teacher is talking, haha!)
But I'm really proud of him and how well he is doing in school.
He is so excited about school and I think that really helps!

They are supposed to pour our basement floors today and start framing on Wednesday! Whoo hoo! :)

5 Years

5 Years Ago today I married my high school sweetheart. 5 years doesn't sound too long to me since we've been together almost 10!
Ryan keeps saying he can't believe it's been 5 years though! lol
He sent me these pretty flowers to work :)
yellow roses and yellow lillies are two of my favorites- what a nice guy to remember that.
Tonight our anniversary will be spent celebrating with family friends at an engagement party in Kentucky. Guaranteed cake on my anniversary, yum! lol
They were supposed to pour our basement floor yesterday or today, but that's not happening now... the framers were supposed to start on Monday, but since the basement floor isn't going to be poured that won't be happening... I figured I would be upset, but surprisingly I'm calm about it! I'm anxious for them to start framing, but a few days is just a few days, right?!
Tomorrow will be busy- I have to work concessions at soccer and then B has his game, but I'm hoping maybe we can go out for supper for our anniversary (and take the boys with us) :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I did a more detailed post last year on our wedding if you want to see pictures :)
Also, a friend of mine, Casondra, who recently found out she has breast cancer started a new blog, with numerous contributors. I happen to be one of them :) I'm honored that she asked me... and even though I don't feel that I've had anything profound enough to contribute to it yet a lot of great gals have posted some really interesting and encouraging things. If you have a few minutes go check out the new blog!

Long Weekend

We have been busy bees lately... a lot of house stuff and and quite a bit of family time too! I am so thankful for a husband that knows all about this house stuff, because even though I THOUGHT I knew a lot- I now realize we wouldn't have had half the stuff we needed done if I was in charge of this project :) I'll gladly give him the reins on this and just go along for the ride and to pick out pretty things :) hehe! It's really coming along- they are supposed to pour the basement and garage floors on Thursday I think.

One day last week I was doing laundry and I came out of the laundry room to find this...
I had sat out the baby food b/c it was about time to feed C...

B said, "Well, mom he was hungry!"
I couldn't be mad- even though it was a huge mess (all over the highchair, Corbin, Corbin's clothes, the floor and even the cabinet beside them!) lol

Brycen was so proud of himself and I love that he is such a big helper and always wanting to make sure "brother bear" is taken care of!

It's the moments like these... that are special.

B wanted him and Corbin to watch a movie on his little tv in Corbin's room.
They have a playroom and we have other tv's, but no, this is where/what he wanted?! lol
Oh yes, and the Pampers box is there b/c B didn't want him to escape! haha, he's not even mobile yet!
I thought it was precious!
He really does include him in everything.
And even though C can't quite play like a big boy- they still "play"!
I know I say it ALL THE TIME, but I love it.

Also last week Ryan brought B home a real tool box with real tools so he can help build the house! Of course Brycen was sooo excited!

This is what Corbin thought about being left out of the real tools ;)

no just kidding- this is how he acts when he is hungry! haha! that's no joke!

but I thought it was funny b/c I did take it when B was getting his tools!

this is the view from my new house
God is so good.

Brycen at the new house!

Corbin at the new house.

Friday night we went to Reo to the drive in... It's an hour and a half away, but it's a special thing and so fun! :) Brycen was so excited!
My boys and I <3

Corbin was too interested in the loud truck beside us to look at the camera!

I thought this weekend might just be relaxed and I would get a ton of stuff done around the house... yah, not so much!

Friday we went to the drive-in (which didn't start 'til 8:30pm our time b/c they are an hour behind us). But it was so worth it b/c our boys loved it.

Saturday morning I did get a few things done around the house, but then we had to go to Home Depot for more house stuff (plumbing stuff for the basement, so nothing exciting). We ate supper at my parents that night... with my aunt and uncle and grandma. Also, on Saturday I was awaken by text messages to find out that my best friend from high school, Chelsey's (also known as Cha Chi by B) dad had died of a heart attack unexpectedly. :( Please keep her and her family in your prayers if you get a chance. He was only in his early 50's... her mom is the sweetest person and my heart just breaks for their family.

Sunday we went to church and then to eat at Mr. Gatti's and then to Walmart... as we were leaving Wal-Mart I got a text from Chelsey asking me to come over to her mom's to be with her for awhile. Of course as soon as I got home I went. Ryan watched the boys for me and told me to go and take however long I needed. I'm thankful for a husband that understands. I'm so glad she reached out. Of course I wanted to be there for her, but I also know what a busy time it is so I didn't want to be in the way. I was glad to get to love on their family though. She also told me some big news when I got there... she is expecting. What a joyful time and such a sad time too for her (and her husband Ryan). I stayed for a couple hours and then went home and we all headed to Princeton to Menards... we were doing more price checks on house stuff and had to run to Wal-Mart AGAIN b/c we forgot a few things. When we got home B and I baked brownies (Chelsey's sister Casey had requested these). I also made up an Oatmeal bake for them to have yesterday morning for breakfast. B and I took these things over to them. They were all excited to see B and he kept everyone entertained. He loves his ChaChi and Rynie :) That's what he has always called them... He gave Chelsey a paper with C's on it that he had done at school- "because that's what her name starts with". He is so sweet and caring. We ended up staying longer than planned, but yesterday morning when my mom went over there to take them stuff, Lisa (chelsey's mom) told her that they loved having B over and he lifted up their spirits. I understand why- his smile is contagious.

Yesterday I finally did get to stay home all day. Ryan got up super early and went out to the house to work (like before sunrise)... When B woke up the first thing he wanted to do was go out there and work with daddy. It was 8am and he was in a hurry to get there! Corbin wasn't even awake yet so I had to wake him up. B was so excited to go help! I came home and Corbin and I got lots of stuff done around the house. I went and picked B up at 1pm.. he was worn out from being such a big worker man! He fell asleep sitting up on the couch last night at 6!

I wish every weekend had an extra day in it!
