Family Party

We had family over Tuesday on Brycen's actual birthday for a family party. We had soups (Taco, Chili, and Veggie) and sandwiches and cupcakes. My mom's preacher's wife (got that?) made the cupcakes- they were AMAZING!

I hate that Brycen's closet door is standing open in this picture, but the kids were playing.

love this boy and his big beautiful smile!

can't believe he is seven.

B w/ his new guitar

cousin Brooke got him an under armour hoodie.

he thinks he's super cool now :)

that's what uncle joe wears, duhhh lol!
he got other gifts, but the kids were all running around and i didn't take time to move around and get a lot of pics

Corbin and Zane :)

hard to believe these two will be two soon (zane is three weeks to do the day older than corbin).

they play so well together!

I have to say I'm glad the birthday craziness is over!

I think I can rest and finish wrapping my gifts tonight and tomorrow night.

Then on to more Christmas gatherings and basketball Saturday & Sunday.

I'm such a homebody that this time of the year really challenges me to be intentional with our plans. I always resist going, but then normally have a good time once I'm there!

7th Bday-Carnival Party

Friday evening we had a Carnival Party for Brycen and Kennedy's 7th birthday's! We had pizza, chips, pop, and cake. I'm sure their parents were all loving us :) haha! We had some games set up for the kids and they had fun playing those, but I think they had as much fun chasing each other around being silly! All these pictures were taken by Erin's (Kennedy's mom) older sister Dana who takes picture. Her website is http://kalidphotography.zenfolio.com/. We were so thankful for her to take the pictures that night and we could focus on being just the moms running the party (ha, is that a joke or what- the kids always run the show!). :) We had so much fun. We decorated on Thurs. evening and then Erin and I went to Evansville to get the cakes from Steph on Friday afternoon- oh my what a fun hilarious afternoon. We laughed 'til we cried. Thankfully we made it home in time to party with our (almost) 7 yr olds! We had a little photo area with some funny face/hat props set up too. The kids wore the props around all nigh being silly!! Brycen wanted a Puma cake and KenKen had Hello Kitty.

B with a silly face:)
The birthday kids :)

They are so fun!

Corbin had fun chasing after all the big kids and trying to play games too! :)

The Birthday girl table :)
The other girls are Chloe, Mabry, Reagan, and Quinlan

(There was another table of girls too)

The birthday boy table!

The other boys are Payton, Braden, Joey, Xavier, Nolan, and Alex.

)There was another boy table too)

B and Payton being silly

The difference between boys and girls was very apparent. The boys were so rowdy and wouldn't sit still and girls are sat sweetly and listened. lol!

B doing the Ping Pong toss!

Ring Toss :)

We also had Bean Bag Toss (to knock down cans), but I can't find a picture of it.

B & KenKen- Best Buddies :)
They also had a wedding ceremony that night ;)

Her dad said he can only hope her wedding will be that cheap ;) lol

The Moms :)

Me and Erin

Or as our husbands called us (especially after our crazy afternoon) "The two Blondes!"

Before the egg race- he is such a goob :)

Their faces crack me up in this one!

B and KenKen racing!

Group Picture!

I love how these pictures capture both their big personalities!

He never fails to make us smile!

B with his Puma cake while everyone sang Happy Birthday :)

Opening Gifts!

He got SpyWare Glasses!

He was saying "whoot whoot, Praise The Lord!"
I love that this comes so natural for him :)

It was a successful party! We were worn out, but had so much fun!! All the kids must of had fun b/c I've had quite a few parents tell me already this week that it is all their kids talked about all weekend :)

December Things :)

We have had a fun but busy month already (as I'm sure everyone has). I haven't done a very good job of documenting things w/ pictures either! The first Saturday of the month we had the Lengacher Family Christmas-- of course I forgot my camera. Just take my word for it- my boys looked cute ;) lol! They both had on dressy clothes and I just love dressing them up! haha!

The next day Brycen had his first basketball game of the season.

I'm not sure what he was doing here, but it's the only picture I took the whole game. Getting Corbin to sit still in the bleachers is quite a feat in itself! He was so timid this first game he wouldn't go after the ball or try to shoot when he had the ball. I guess he had the jitters :)

B playing w/ homemade play doh we made for birthday treat bags :) Him and Corbin both kept entertained for hours with it!

Ready to put in the treat bags :)

Playing army trucks is hard work- C fell asleep like this! When I went to pick him up there was a big puddle of drool! :) too funny!

These two are enjoying riding tractors and other ride on toys in the unfinished basement :)

Last week we were cleaning down there and they were having a lot of fun!

Saturday night we went pretty late to WalMart. I had to get ingredients for stuff for B's family party and I knew that was probably the only time I had to do it. BUT of course we had to watch the IU/UK game first! Ryan was so mad at me b/c my mom wanted to get us tickets for the game (my parents and my brother and a bunch of friends went), but when she ordered them I was planning on having B's friend party that night... we ended up having it Friday night instead so we could of gone. Ryan was so upset! lol We did miss a good one!

Anyway, after the game we went to WalMart. Corbin was zonked out afterward. He always sleeps w/ his hands like that- I think it's adorable!

Yesterday we had church and then got friend chicken and taters for lunch and then went to B's 2nd game of the season. This one went much better! He stole the ball quite a few times and shot a few times and made two baskets- he had four points :) Go B! It was good for his confidence and we were so proud of him for getting out of his comfort zone and being more aggressive!
He's number 4- he wants to tape a 0 beside the 4 so he can be the same number as Cody Z :)

His team name this year is IU- how fun!!

When we got home we let B open his presents from us so he could play with them yesterday- pictures of that to come :)

Corbin-22 Months

I cannot believe Corbin will be 22 months (almost two?!) tomorrow. I haven't done an update on him for a few months. Time just slips away from me! This is mostly for me to remember my sweet boy and what is going on with him at this age so some details might seem boring to ya'll, but I want to remember them!

*He weighs right around 30lbs and is over almost 37 in. tall!

*Wearing 24 mo and 2T clothes (both fit pretty good- some 24 mo are too short- depends on brand). He wears a 6 or 6 1/2 shoe and still has insanely fat feet that are hard to fit in shoes!

*Sleeping in a big boy bed. We made this transition in November when he learned to crawl out of his crib. He has done sooo well. He is sleeping in a twin bed w/ a safety rail. We tried converting his crib to a toddler bed and he hated that. Thankfully the twin bed did the trick and we're all back to our normal sleeping habits.

*A great eater for the most part! It kills me that some days he'll want 3 helpings of something and two days later he'll spit that same thing out like it's poison. It makes meal planning a little tricky, but there are a few things he never refuses so if all else fails we feed him yogurt, cheese, bread, or mandarin oranges :) lol and I try to remember he isn't going to starve just because he refuses to eat much for lunch one day.

*He says a lot of different phrases/words-- he just doesn't say them nearly as frequently as B did at this age. So when he talks and things I didn't know he knew how to say come out I'm a little surprised sometimes! It's so sweet to hear him talk that I try to coax things out of him all the time. lol! He talks to Brycen more than anyone and it's hilarious. His favorite is to point at the "toy room" and stomp his foot and say, "Go pay bubba." (go play bubba). He ALWAYS wants his bubba to play with him. On Wednesdays while B is at school you'd think he'd be happy to have me to himself, but noooo he asks all day, "Where Bubba at?".

*Speaking of playing his favorites are still blocks and cars. B and I made home made play doh Sunday and we let Corbin play w/ some- he thought that was a blast (after he tried to eat it first of course, lol).

*He is doing really well with not touching the tree still. I finally put the presents under there yesterday. I was really worried that he would bother them. He didn't even seem to notice them (although, he knew they were there b/c he "helped" me put them under there) until right before bed time and he took a couple out and when I looked at him he hurried and stuffed them back under the tree, haha!

*He will FINALLY make all the animal noises. In fact it is one of his favorite books right now (the one that shows all the animals and lists their sounds). His other favorite book is Sheep In A Jeep :) -- his favorite page of course is , "Uh-Oh the Jeep Won't Go". He repeats that line w/ me every time! He loves to point out and name all of his body parts and all of everyone else's :)

*He warms up to men much quicker than to women. I account this for the fact that he is a daddy's boy. He loves his momma... until daddy gets home! He's a man's man that is FOR SURE. He gets up on the couch and lays back and holds the remote just like Ryan. You just have to laugh b/c it shows a true picture! haha! He's sooo rough and tumble. He always has bruises, cuts, knots, etc. He literally just runs straight into things and bounces off and keeps going. It cracks us up!

*In public or around crowds he seems to have a pretty laid back and calm attitude. HA! This is FAR from the truth... He is a CRAZYYY kid always into something and throws huge fits if he doesn't get his way. He gets the laid back in public part from his dad and the stubborn fit throwing from his momma (what can I say?) lol it sure isn't pretty!

*He can sure be a snuggle bug. He doesn't really like to be held all that much, but he will crawl up and lay beside me, B, or Ryan and snuggle for quite a long time. It's sooo sweet! I used to rush home and rush to start supper and rush rush rush to get everything done so I could sit down. I felt like it was hard to pay him attention and then he was fussy etc... so I've started fixing him a cup of milk when we get home and sitting on the couch and just snuggling for 10-15 min. before I start fixing supper and getting into the craziness of the night. It honestly has helped BOTH of our moods so much- Brycen usually needs this time to unwind and watch a little TV or just chill too. I'm so glad I discovered that we all needed this short amt. of time to make our night go so much smoother.

*He loves to give Bella (our dog) snacks. He will go to the laundry room above the desk area (where we keep the snacks) and say, "dogggg nack or bella" (Dog snack for Bella). When you get the container down you'd think he won the lottery, he dances and does a happy jig! It's so sweet. Bella's probably going to get fat from all the "nacks" she gets :)

*Speaking of dancing- this is a favorite of his too. B and him will turn on the radio or a cd in our room and dance away. Those two just crack me up! We need to video this ASAP.

I know there is more, but I have to stop somewhere. I could go on and on about the joy this boy brings our family every day. Our family isn't perfect, but we're perfectly in love with each other and we are so blessed <3

Thanksgiving 2011

I can't believe it's already been a week since Thanksgiving- it's December 1st at that... I don't know where the year has gone!

On Thanksgiving we got up and Ryan made us all breakfast while I got the boys and myself ready for the day. What a guy! I think he was sucking up b/c he had been hunting the past two weekends and was going that wk/end too (when he goes he goes to the cabin and stays all wk/end) soooo he was trying to suck up a bit :) haha!

We went to Ryan's parents house mid-morning and enjoyed snacking and chatting while the kids played. Sonya made ME a cheeseball ;) lol, well I guess she made it for everyone, but I think I ate most of it. YUM!

Miss Mya really loves Corbin- it's so sweet! They were playing "tea party". Corbin is kind of rough to play tea so it was funny.

this looks so dainty- it's right before he dropped it on the floor and broke it- whoops!

Can't believe my sweet boy is getting sooo big-- his big boy hair cut makes him look even older I think!

That is something I've tackled lately- cutting my boys (all three of them, Ryan included) hair!
I have some learning to do, but they all look okay and we're saving a ton of money! With three boys needing hair cuts once a month that got pretty pricey! Ryan has been telling me for years to just cut his myself, but I was too nervous. When Corbin became a monthly member of the hair cutting club though I realized I better learn fast :) Especially when Ryan said with what we were spending in hair cuts I could buy a new pair of shoes each month! Lol, I won't do that obviously, but it put things in perspective!

After lunch at his parents we went home and put up our main Christmas tree. Corbin napped the whole time so it was fun to see his face when we he woke up and there was a tree in our living room! lol. He kept saying "tree!!!" and jumping around like the crazy kiddo that he is!
We also put the Brycen's tree in his room. It's a tractor theme and Corbin won't leave it alone! He thinks the tractor ornaments are toys! haha! We put Corbin's up high on his dresser where he cannot reach it, but he doesn't seem too interested in it anyway- just B's tractor one! I'm afraid of what will happen when I put the presents under the big tree. Yikes!

We went to my parents for supper and dessert with my dad's side of the family- the Sims'. I say this every year, but that is my favorite get together. It just reminds me so much of my childhood and I'm glad my kids are having that same get together continued even though our great grandparents have passed away. We are so close with this side of the family and I always end up laughing so hard I'm in tears- that's the best feeling!

Kaydee Mae and Corbin playing :)
I love that these two are BFF like her daddy Todd and I were (and are!). :)
They are 4 months (to the day) apart and Todd and I are 4 months apart too!
These two have brought so much happiness to our family after a really dark period for all of us!

"the big kid" :)
all the babies love him and he's so good w/ them!
So proud of my boy!
and his smile can just light up a room!

My brother was home from college all week and I got to see him quite a bit actually.
So thankful for him!
He is a great Uncle to the boys and they just adore him!

this picture melts.my.heart.

I think they were watching a cartoon movie w/ the kids running around screaming!
