The Polar Express Train Ride

I mentioned in a previous post that part of B's present from my parents was tickets to go on The Polar Express train ride in French Lick. B has been looking forward to this for quite awhile now! He lovesss trains and loves the movie. He kept asking me if he was really going to the North Pole ;)

They told them to wear their pj's :)-- of course he had to wear boots too- such a hick!
Showing Mamaw Reece his Christmas PJ's
(I always call her "Mamaw Reece" or my mom when referring to her on here- her name is Lorice, hence where "Mamaw Reece" came from!) :)

Getting on the train!

In his FIRST CLASS seat ;)

Brycen w/ the conductor!

Brycen loved this part and told me all about how the conductor punched the ticket over his head really fast, "just like on the movie!". :)

Really into the story!
Getting his hot chocolate (another Brycen favorite) from an elf :)

Brycen and Mamaw Reece :)

Eating his cookie :)

At the North Pole :)

With his jingle bell they gave them (another favorite part of his)!
mugs, tickets, and book :)
B-- always the ladies man, even w/ the elves :) haha!

Christmas PJ's

I wanted to get a couple pictures of the boys in their Christmas pj's in front of the tree. Friday I gave them their baths early in the afternoon and I had to put B's on him anyway b/c he was going to the Polar Express Train ride that afternoon. I thought that would be the perfect opportunity to get a few cute pictures... bahahah! Corbin had just got up from his nap AND then got a bath which he loves so he was extra wound up and not in any mood to cooperate!

Trying to get away!
This was the best I could do at an individual picture of Corbin!
Ridiculous, I know :)

Brycen Hunter- his pj's are size 6 and they are still getting small :(
I just can't believe how big he has gotten!

Having a talk about sitting still ;) haha!

They were both tired of picture taking- Corbin follows B EVERYWHERE!
So far Brycen thinks it's sweet and LOVES it!

Brycen and Corbin
Christmastime 2010

This one is hilarious and I seriously laugh out loud every.single.time I look at it!

I love Christmas time and spending so much extra time with my boys!
I'm off after today for the next two weeks!!

Tunnel Fun

I read on my monthly update from babycenter.com that I get about Corbin each month that at this age babies usually like tunnels. I thought, "Well, we are in luck because B has a big blue tunnel". Last week while we were home because of ice (did I mention I got a five day weekend? I was off from Wed. through Sunday b/c my work closed Thurs. and Fri. giving me two extra days off!) anyway, while we were home, I had Brycen get the tunnel out and we thought we'd see what Corbin would do.
Not so sure...
Starting to go, but he kept putting his hands up the sides and rolling, haha!

"Hey, momma, I think I have the hang of it now!"

He wasn't going fast enough for B so B was chasing him. Corbin thought that was funny!

"Yayy, I made it!"

Mi Pueblo

Okay, last birthday post for Brycen, but I wanted to share these pictures too! The day before his birthday we let him open his presents from us at home so he could enjoy them Sunday evening. He only got a few small things from us b/c we told him Pump It Up was part of his present this year-- he doesn't need anything anyway! Lol, he actually had a couple more things that I didn't get wrapped (ran out of paper) so they are now under the tree (from his brother) :).

He got Toy Story 3, some paint pen/markers (some of his favorite things that keep him entertained for hours!), the game Trouble, and a huge box of legos.
He has been enjoying all of these things nightly.
I am amazed at the things he can build with legos!
Monday evening we went to Mi Pueblo w/ my family and Ryan's family to have a little family party for Brycen on his actual birthday.
My brother came home from college to be there :)
Brycen thought this was especially cool!
(Yes, we're goobers) :) Actually I think Ryan caught us off guard.

Corbin showing off :)

Being sung too :)
Can't believe he is SIX!

Brycen w/ his "hot rod" cake :)
He requested a cake w/ a picture of Papaw's car!

One of his gifts from Marilyn and Phil- he really really wanted this so he was super excited!
I think Corbin has enjoyed it just as much as B too!
B with his money from Uncle Joe! :)

He also got a Toy Story 3 Memory Game from my cousin Brooke that we have played like a 1000 times (and it's hard!). She also got him a Build A Bear Dog Kit. We haven't made it yet, but we're going to do that over break. John and Sonya got him the movie "How To Train A Dragon". I can't remember what else Marilyn and Phil got him besides the fire truck... my parents got him a huge set of hot wheels (more cars!) and a carrying case (we need about ten of those cases that hold 100!). They also got him tickets to go on the Polar Express Train ride this past weekend!

I'm so thankful my baby boy enjoyed his birthday. I'm also glad we celebrated 3 times, b/c it's harder to make his birthday special w/ all the Christmas gatherings going around too.

6 Years of Memories...

Six years ago today at 3:23pm (est) Brycen Hunter Knepp came into this world weighing 7lbs and 0oz. and was 19 1/2 in. long. He has been bringing joy to our lives ever since (now mixed in with some strong willed antics)! He is an amazing big brother and such a little lover. He has a memory that I envy and a heart as big as Texas! He does test his limits with Ryan and I, but never with a teacher or other adult. He is soft-hearted and gets his feelings hurt easily, but also forgives quickly. He says what's on his mind (which sometimes makes us cringe at times)! I can always count on him for a smile. He has a huge personality and a wild imagination!

At six years old Brycen is reading well and does great at math! He is interested in anything "science". He loves guns, hot rods, and farming. He likes girls way too much and it scares me to think of the teenage years! He has just as many friends that are girls as he does boys. He loves school and his teacher Mrs. Bennett- says he is going to marry her ;). He is such a worker and loves to do anything outside with his daddy. He played baseball, soccer, and now basketball this year. Baseball was his favorite by far. He likes to ride bikes and four-wheelers. His favorite thing is to play in the dirt- since we're building a house this year he got to do plenty of that!

Brycen's favorite color is green and sometimes black. He has jumped up a size and 1/2 in shoes and now wears a 12 1/2. His favorite toys are hot wheels cars. He likes any "project" and is usually a great helper! He likes to be read to and to read to aloud to us. He also loves to play games. We play Yahtzee, Boggle, Go Fish, Candy Land, ChutesNLadders, and Trouble. He loves cowboy boots and wears them every day except Wednesday (gym day!). He still isn't picky about clothes and lets me pick them out, but he prefers jeans over swishy pants.... wish I would of known that when I bought him 3 pair of Nike ones before school! He will wear comfy clothes around home. Actually on days off that we're home we rarely get out of our pj's b/c we like to be comfy! He likes to help in the kitchen and is always so careful. He's a bit of a perfectionist and gets upset easily if he doesn't do something correctly or it doesn't turn out the way he wants it to.

He likes to watch movies and will still snuggle while we watch them (thank you Lord). He is hard headed and would argue it's black even when it's clearly white... he gets it honestly though- Ryan says he acts just like me :) He has recently became more interested in the wii and thinks it's cool to say, "I play video games". It cracks me up b/c the longest he has ever been interested enough to play is maybe 20 min. (we were bobsledding on the Mario and Sonic Winter Olympics). He is riding the bus this year and loves it. He gets mad on Wednesdays that I take him and pick him up! His handwriting is very good for a boy- especially when he takes his time. He is now on a daily medicine for his asthma and although I would prefer him not to be, it has helped tremendously and I've noticed a huge change in his ability to breathe better at night- for that I'm very thankful.

I could go on listing things about Brycen b/c he truly brings so much joy to my life. I can't get enough of him and I enjoy spending all the time possible with him. I can't believe he is six years old, but I'm grateful for every day that God let's us have together. It is a blessing to raise this sweet boy.
