Pictures (because I know that's all ya'll want!)

after his first bath in his bath tub at home. his belly cord fell off on tues. and he had his first real bath wednesday! i forgot the camera beforehand.
i .love. a clean smellin baby :)

my boys in their baseball pj's :)

first bath momma did all by herself on friday (i gave both the boys baths at the same time, b in the big tub and c in his lil tub)... it actually worked out really well and was faster than doing them separate... b could play while i gave c his. i haven't been doing it long, but i actually don't think having two kiddos is all that hard... it helps that b is older though i'm sure.

sweet. sleeping.clean.precious.baby!

he was facebooking w/ me :)

my boys <3
So, I have to say germs have always freaked me out, but now I'm just turning into a paranoid freak! Thursday we went to my friend Melissa's mom's viewing and I thought that I might honestly have a heart attack before we left there. Corbin stayed in his seat, zipped up, with the little sign hanging down saying w/ a hand w/ a cross over it (no touching), but I was just sooo paranoid that he was going to get sick! I hope this gets easier and I can quit freaking out b/c I'm having some major anxiety issues with it! Everyone was really good about just looking from a distance, but it still just freaks me out!

Last night John and Sonya came over to visit for a little bit and brought pizza.
Today we went to Wal-Mart. My first trip in a long time, Corbin's first ever (also his first time to wear jeans!). hehe! We were out of EVERYTHING I think! I am glad that is out of the way! I'm def. going to have to do the sling though b/c I can't see over the silly baby seat when it's on the cart! haha! Corbin slept the whole time- such a good baby! My Uncle Dan sent B some "big brother" money so he got a new game for the wii (Mario and Sonic Winter Olympics). It's pretty fun! :) We're just hanging out tonight and relaxing.

2 Week Stats

I really don't have much of anything to talk about, but I wanted to post Corbin's 2 week stats for my record :) He had his check up today and last week the dr. said he needed to be back up to his birth weight by this week... well the little guy def. surpassed that goal! He weighed 6lbs 9oz! He had gained a whole lb. since last week! I knew his little cheeks were filling out, but I didn't think he had gained a whole lb! He is finally on the charts and is in the 5th percentile for weight (still scrawny, but we are so glad he is doing well!). He had grown another 1/2 inch since last week and is now 21 inches long, which he is def. not behind on, he is in the 75th percentile of length! He has a tiny little head that is less than 5th percentile, but that's ok, momma has a little head too :) hehe!

It was my first time taking him out all by myself. I have to say I was a little nervous about him being in the back seat all by himself (B is at pre-school today). We both did fine though! I'm so short carrying the big awkward carrier is... well.... akward! lol. We made it though and now I think I'm ready to get out and about! I LOVE LOVE LOVE being home all the time, but sometimes a girl just needs to get out of the house! My mom took B to school for me both mornings this week and Ryan has been picking him up, but next week I think I will feel up to taking B myself in the mornings. I am recovering great from my c/s. I can def. feel it when I overdo it, but my incision looks great and I am happy to say I wore my regular jeans today! yay!! I have pretty much been pregnant and in "fat clothes" for 2 years, so this is very very exciting for me! :) A healthy baby and skinny jeans all in one day (oh yah and girl scout cookies too!), what more could a girl ask for?! :)

Two Weeks Old, Already?

Mr. Corbin (or Corby has Ryan has taken to calling him, poor kid!) was 2 weeks old yesterday. I don't know where the past two weeks have went... It's already going way too fast. I know I keep saying that, but it's true!
Corbin- what are you up to at 2 weeks old?
*You are such a good good baby- you have spoiled us already!
*You take 2-3 oz every 2-3 hours. You have really turned up the eating the past few days and it shows! I can really tell you are putting on weight!
*At night you get up two times. Momma changes your diaper and you eat and go right back to sleep (THANK YOU SWEET BABY!) :)
*Your belly cord fell off yesterday!
*You are still in newborn clothes/sleepers, but the sleepers are going to have to go soon, your little toes are about to pop out the bottoms! Your 0-3 months still swallow you up though b/c your little shoulders are so narrow!
*You have freakisly long legs and feet (not sure where you get those big feet!). I love to look at your little wrinkly knees :)
*You are also still in newborn diapers, but they actually fit you now instead of swallowing you up like they did when you were born.
*You are such a content baby- you don't care if you are being held or we put you down you just sleep away or if you are awake you just look around and take everything in.
*You aren't a fan of being naked and getting your diaper changed, it's about the only time you cry and I'm not even sure you can call it a cry!
*If your brother is around when you do cry he sings to you and you automatically stop and look up at him... melts momma's heart!
*We have enjoyed every day of these past 2 weeks and are so happy you are a part of our family, you fit so well, and it seems like you've been a part of us forever. I can't imagine life without you baby boy!
B went back to school for the first time yesterday since C was born.
It wore him out! B and Daddy both had a nap BEFORE supper after their long days at work and school.
I'm very very freaked out about the germs at pre-school and I thought about not letting him go, but he needs the interaction with kids his own age, so we are just taking as many pre-cautions with that as possible... and praying for the best!
C took a nap right along with his Daddy and big brother :)
I have a feeling these 3 men in my life are all going to be inseperable and I LOVE it!

Krispy Kreme Field Trip

B's pre-school did a fund raiser and sold Krispy Kreme donuts (YUM)! Then they got to go on a field trip there this past Thursday!

watching them make the donuts
they all got these hats
i am so thankful my mom is flexible with her work schedule so she could go with him...
i probably wouldn't let him go if i wasn't going or she couldn't go...
i'm over protective like that.seriously, how cute is he?!
Brycen and Kennedy :)

then they went to the mall and played awhile while they waited on the carousel to open

he loved it!

then they rode the carousel.
he rode in the "spinny thing" and made it go "really really fast" :)
he must not have his momma's stomach (i cannot ride anything that spins!)
Then they ate at the mall before heading home (not sure what this face is?!)
He was a worn out little boy, but had so much fun! Him and my mom also went and delivered all the donuts he had sold on their way back. It was fun listening to him tell me all about it, but I was sad to have missed out on being there with him.

C

B took this picture-- Corbin doesn't get much farther than this from me :)
We missed his 1 week picture so we did a "9 day" picture!

first time in his bouncy seat

first time wearing a big boy outfit (not a sleeper)... one finally fit him!

i was putting away laundry and found this in my room :)
sooo sweet-Brycen was reading to Corbin his favorite bible story book :)
I am so enjoying this sweet time w/ my boys and their daddy!

Brothers & Birth Story

Big brother and Daddy getting ready for Corbin to arrive :) both so excited (Ryan was trying not pass out thinking about going into surgery with me... he has a VERY weak stomach). Thankfully, they had him SITTING!

Sooo excited to finally have his little brother here :)

Helping momma feed Corbin, he just couldn't quit smiling! This was about 20 min. after C got out of the NICU

Holding his little brother by himself for the first time! I am so excited for Ryan and I to have Corbin here, but equally excited to watch Brycen get to enjoy his little brother he has waited so long for.

just couldn't get enough of him

holding him at home for the first time!

the plate B made awhile back for C :)

Well, I am sitting here w/ Mr. C on my lap while B is on his field trip to Krispy Kreme. My mom went with him. We have had an eventful time since C has been home. Our furnace broke... they had to order a new part and it won't be in until tomorrow (it went out the day after we got home). The CO levels were too high in the pipes (it checked out ok in the house, but we weren't taking any chances of it leaking out into the house) so we have been living at my parents. Not ideal with a newborn, but it works and we are grateful to have them and their house to stay at. They will probably be ready to get rid of us by tomorrow though! It's been nice to have some help with B while I'm recovering. I over did it a little the past couple days and was really feeling sore last night in my incision. I got my stitches out yesterday so that was nice! C had his check up on Tuesday and he is up to 5lbs 9oz from 5lbs 3oz when we left the hospital on Saturday. He had also grown an inch since birth so he was up to 20 1/2 inches. He is such a good baby. I mean like so good he is spoiling us! If he changes I won't know what to think! lol. He gets up every 3 hours (2 times a night) to eat. He eats and I change him all in about 25 min. and he is back asleep. He is eating about 2 oz. every 3 hours... sometimes a little sooner, and it's around 2 1/2. He is a growing boy though! He sleeps and makes the cutest little faces. I am in awe of him and can't put him down! Thankfully, his big brother is just as in awe of him and doesn't mind how much I hold him, only gets mad that he doesn't get to hold him enough! haha! He says I hog him! B and I have been coloring lots of pictures while I am taking it easy. My blood pressure is still rather high, but as of yesterday Dr. Reisinger didn't want to put me on meds just yet (which is fine with me). I feel fine, but am checking my BP and am supposed to call them into her tomorrow morning so she can see if she thinks I need to go ahead and get on some meds for awhile until it evens out.

Well, last Tuesday, the 9th, I was home with B all day b/c he had a snow day from school. I felt okay, but just a little different. My BP wasn't extremely high, but higher than it had been. Ryan got home and we left for my weekly appointment, leaving B w/ my mom (which I rarely do, he went to all my appointments!). On the way to the dr's office I prayed that if C needed to come out to let my BP be high in the dr's office (it was never high there, but had a few high readings at home). We were actually there about 30 min. early since we didn't know how the roads would be, but they must have had a lot of cancellations or something b/c they got me back within 5 min. Ryan was in the bathroom when they took me back... the nurse took my BP and had a funny face and said, "Something is going on with your BP it was 160/100. Dr Reisinger will be right in." The nurse went to get Ryan and he came in there and I told him what my BP was... he was like "okay, let's go, we have to go to the hospital right now." the poor guy!! He was so nervous. The dr. came in right away and said, "okay, you are going straight to the hospital, I don't want you anywhere but there." She did go ahead and check my cervix and I was at a 2 (and had some other signs I won't go into details about) of progression since the week before. She called the hospital and sent us on our way. It all seemed very surreal. We got to the hospital and they admitted me and got me hooked up to monitors. My BP did go down (not normal, but it wasn't as high as it was at the dr's office and all my labs actually came back fairly normal. Since they couldn't decide if I was "full term" or not (by that whole 3 days) they were trying to decide when to take him or if his lungs would be ready... since I was doing okay and being monitored they wanted to wait 'til the next day. That was the decision that was made that he would come out the next day. The dr. went out of the room and my body decided otherwise. The irregular contractions that I had been having turned into contractions every 2 min. The dr. was watching them on the monitor at the nurses station. She came in and asked if I could feel them and I said I could, but they weren't painful. She wanted to check me again and said if I had made progress since I was at her office then I was in labor and C was just ready to come out. She checked me again (can I get a hello uncomfortable?!) . I was already at a 3 (this was less than 2 hours after being at her office at a 2). She said, "well let's do this" and they started prepping me for surgery. At this point it was very surreal. Twenty min. before my friend Olivia had been painting my toenails and fingernails and now I was going to meet this sweet baby we have prayed so long and hard for. (Yes, I got my nails and toe nails done at the hospital, lol). Olivia was on her way to stay with me Tuesday night to highlight my hair and paint my toes when I called her and told her I had to go to the hospital so she just came there and kept us company instead. She was good for our nerves while we waited on them to decide what they were doing. I was hooked up to an IV already "just in case". Dr. Miller the dr. that did my spinal was amazing. I didn't feel a thing (hurt way less than getting my cervix checked!). He was asking me the whole time if I was okay and how I was feeling and I was asking poor Ryan the same questions! My dr. and the assisting dr. and Dr. Miller and Ryan and I and the nurse carried on a conversation through the whole thing. It was amazing and they put me at such ease. I just keep going back to the word "surreal". Now a week later, it all feels sort of like a dream! When C came out he was crying and that was the most amazing sound ever! The dr. held him up and we got some pictures. After they weighed and measured him and cleaned him up Ryan got to hold him and hold him up to my face. It was precious. Then I started feeling like I was going to pass out, not so amazing! Dr. Miller took good care of me though and I started feeling better. C started "grunting" at some point and they took him to the newborn nursery to be observed by his nurse (who was wonderful and explained it all to us before just taking him away). I was then taken to recovery. Ryan kept trying to go back and forth between us and letting me know what was going on. The nurse that was with me was great too and we just talked about random things. After my hour in recovery was up they wheeled me to my regular room and I got to go past C and look in the nursery at him for awhile. When we got to my room I'm not sure how much time it was, but not too long they came in and let us know they had spoken w/ the NICU dr. and that they thought C needed to go there for awhile. He was having to work pretty hard to breathe and couldn't eat b/c of it so his blood sugar was low. Dr. Hermmann the NICU dr. was wonderful and came to see us right after seeing Corbin and explained that he might be out the next day or it could be around 10 days, it would just depend on how he did. I didn't want him in the NICU, but I was just so relieved to have him here and know that he was going to be okay that I really did deal with it okay I think. Soon after that they wheeled me down to see him. Since they were still getting him stabalized we couldn't hold him yet, but we got to touch him and look at him. The next time we went down I did get to hold him and it was AMAZING. I was just overwhelmed. It felt like a dream. His NICU nurse was great and I just loved her! He had her both nights he was in there and then the day he got out that night she came to visit us in our room! I can't say enough how appreciative I am of how sweet she was and how she made us feel. Wednesday he was in the NICU all day/night, but at 9am that morning they started him on feeds and took him off of the cannula/room air that was helping him not work so hard to breathe. He did great with out and never looked back. They started him out at 15 cc's I believe and increased it by 3 cc's every 3 hours. The iv feed number had to get down to 3 before they could take it out and he could come to us. He never waivered and did amazing, tolerating each feed and eating more and more. I was so relieved each time he took the whole amount he needed to, because each time that number on the IV machine went down he was that much closer to coming stay in our room! Thursday morning we met with Dr. Herrmann and he said at his noon feeding if he did okay we could take him to our room! They were kicking him out! I was so glad :) The nurse brought him to us at noon and his big brother finally got to meet him! They also decided my hemoglobin was so low that I needed a blood transfusion. I wasn't too excited about getting hooked back up to an IV since I had just got unhooked and so had C... all those tubes and wires make things a little complicated! My hemoglobin was down to 5.3 though and they said it would make me feel a lot better (normal is around 11-12 I believe). After one transfusion it was back up to 8.3 so they didn't think I needed a second one! This is all after my first IV quit working and fluids leaked into my tissue and my arm started ballooning up and then they blew out 4 more veins before finally getting the 2nd IV started. It wasn't ideal, but we had our baby so it didn't matter. I fed him and got a blood transfusion at the same time, that's what ya call multi-tasking ;). My nurses were WONDERFUL. I had the same day/night nurses the whole time I was there and I was def. spoiled. Karen, my day nurse was a nurse that I had last year with Andon and we've become friends and facebook and have stayed connected this whole time. It meant so much to have her through this happy time (she has FIVE boys!). Friday when they rechecked my blood level I was finally able to get my IV out! My BP started staying high and I was sooooo swollen from all the fluids they had been pumping through me. They wanted me to go ahead and stay until Saturday which at that point we were okay with. It was pretty early Sat. morning when we got released. We got home early afternoon. It was a relief to be home, but also nerve wracking to have this little baby that had just been in the NICU all to ourselves! Then our furnace broke... oh my! We couldn't of asked for a smoother transition for Corbin though. He has done so well and we are so thankful. At his dr's appointment the dr. said since his lungs were a little pre-mature and he had to have some help the first day and since he is so tiny that we need to keep him away from germs until RSV season is over. It's hard because we want to show him off, but we need to do what's best for him to keep him healthy!

Well, I'm sure this blog post is extremely long, and probably not all that interesting to anyone, but I wanted to write it all down before I forgot. I'm sure there are parts I'm leaving out though! Thank you all for your prayers over the past year. We appreciate them more than we could ever express.

Look Alikes

Brycen Hunter
Corbin Fisher

Everyone keeps asking if Corbin looks like Brycen. He does! I was so surprised when I first saw him and got to hold him b/c I felt like I was looking at Brycen as a baby and I wasn't expecting him to look like B all that much from the u/s pics he looked more like Andon. Those things play tricks on you! He is B's little mini-me. They have a slightly different chin, and of course C is a little skinnier, but otherwise they def. look alike! I realized today when I took a picture of C in this hat that I had a picture of B in it too so we thought we'd look at them side by side. I know I'm not doing so hot at updating, but I can't put C down long enough to do much of anything besides hold him! Hopefully, soon I'll leave him alone long enough to do a better update!

Corbin Fisher

Sorry, I haven't updated my blog, but we have been busy spending time with our little guy in the NICU. I will write out his birth story and everything later, but he was born on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010! It is the day his big brother had picked out and said he was going to be here, he was right! He weighed in at a little tiny 5lbs 11oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. The dr's now think I wasn't quiet 37 weeks? It doesn't really matter at this point, but prob. explains a little better why C struggled w/ his breathing a little bit his first night. He had fluid on his lungs from my c/s as well. Since he was so worked up he couldn't eat and his blood sugar was a little low. He was never on oxygen. They had room air going in his nose so that he wouldn't have to work as hard so that he could rest! The NICU dr. took it out yesterday morning and he hasn't had a problem with out! He also started eating yesterday morning and they have been increasing his intake 3 cc's every 3 hours. I can't remember what he started at, but he was up to 33 (30 cc's is an oz) at his last feeding at 6am. We will get to feed him again at 9am. The NICU staff has been wonderful, but we want him out of there! We should know something this morning when the dr sees him, but the nurses all think he will get out today and that is what the dr was leaning towards yesterday since he has done so well! We will be glad to have him in our room! We don't mind visitors, but dr. said since he was early and had some issues with his breathing to not "pass him around". They don't want him getting really worked up yet and he still needs to rest quite a bit. It's okay for people to come look at him, but it will be awhile before a lot of holding can be done by anyone besides us. We don't want him to have be back in the NICU once he is out. Brycen is quite excited and can't wait to meet his little brother! B stayed all night with us at the hospital last night and he was an angel. He is currently watching Handy Manny and holding the giraffe he picked out for C! My hemoglobin was sort of low yesterday and it's gone down a bit more today so I might have to get some blood today... I really do feel great though! Honestly, I am on cloud 9, getting a unit of blood is nothing compared to what we've been through the past year and it def. won't bring us down! The dr. should be in to see me around noon and make a final decision about it. I will have a ton more pictures later, but we have been so busy going back and forth that I haven't had a lot of time to post. I do want to share him with ya'll right away though so this is a picture Ryan took on his phone. Thank you all for your prayers! We are so relieved to have C here safe and sound!!

Game & 37 Weeks

Sunday night we went over to my uncle tony and aunt lisa's to watch the Superbowl. Todd and Kayla and Kaydee Mae were over there too. That Kaydee Mae is just adorable and growing way too fast! We were all cheering on our Colt's, bummed they lost, but we still had a good evening enjoying each other!

My dad and B playing before the game started
Brycen Hunter
I was glad it wasn't really late when the game got over, but I still couldn't sleep well :( Yesterday at work seemed like a long day! Ed and Judy (our preacher and his wife) came by to visit for a little bit last night. That was a nice visit! We are so thankful for them (and the cookies she brought too!) haha :)
37 Weeks
I was 37 Weeks yesterday... Full Term! How exciting! I am huge. Uncomfortable. And VERY ready to have C out. Also, very grateful that he is still in there and healthy though! I go to the dr. this evening at 4:50 our time... Hopefully they will have the roads cleared by then so it won't be too long of a trip. I am anxious to see if I have made anymore progress. At the most we have 15 days until my c/s is set for, but man oh man I am hoping for him to come out before then!!! I just can't wait to snuggle this little boy! I told Ryan I don't think I will be able to share him, even with him! hahah! :) But seriously! I am sure I will spoil him rotten because I won't want to put him down. Ever! We have waited so long for this... and although 15 days might not sound like a long time to wait, it feels like eternity right now! I am enjoying a snow day at home with Brycen just hanging out since his school was cancelled.

While We Wait...

Well, I haven't updated since Wednesday, because I've been sick since Tuesday night and I haven't done much of anything (well maybe besides whine and complain to my poor husband!). Sorry I fell off the 14 day Love Challenge bandwagon. I was super excited about it and it was going so well, but then getting sick kind of put a damper on things... You all can still go to Amy's blog at www.womensmarriageministry.blogspot.com and do the challenges along with her. That's what I'm going to do, but I don't think I'm going to post them since I'm behind now! Ryan was sick last week (think I mentioned that...). On Tuesday on the way to the dr. we were talking about how great it was that I hadn't caught it (my dad, grandma, mom, and co-worker have all had the same stuff). Well, not 3 hours later on our way home I was pretty sure I was getting sick. Head cold/sinus infection, not exactly sure what, but I do know it's been miserable, and especially already being hugely pregnant and uncomfortable! This morning I am FINALLY feeling quite better... Wednesday and Thursday I didn't really move from the couch. Friday I did go to work, but only because there was stuff that I really had to do (no one else was in my office on Friday so I wasn't giving my germs out!). I really thought I should of been feeling better, but yesterday was miserable too! In other news, while we wait on Corbin we've mainly been hanging out in our pj's (because that's about all I can fit in!).

playing blocks :)
going to gatti town after my appointment
such a stud!

riding some motorcycles ;)

bowling...
not even sure? just living life with a 5 year old little boy!

he's cute even when he is being dorky :)

Last night we went to my parents for homemade lasagna for my cousin Brooke's birthday. It was nice to visit, but we didn't stay long since I felt like poo. Tonight we're going to some of my families house to watch the Superbowl game. Only 17 more days to wait at the most.... :)

Hands and Feet

I just want to encourage everyone to be the "hands and feet" of Jesus... just as he was the hands and feet of the Lord.

Andon's life was short. Too short for my liking. But perfect. Pure. Just as the Lord planned it to be. I never asked to be a momma to an angel in Heaven... it's not a road I would of chosen for myself if given the opportunity to choose, but it has been a blessing all the same.
I know of three babies and momma's whose lives have been spared in the past year b/c they've heard Andon's story. Concidence? I don't believe in "concidences".
I believe in God's divine plan for each of us.
I believe that He gives us life for a reason and we need to choose to use that life wisely... for Him.
Sometimes it's hard for me to step out of my comfort zone and "be His hands and feet".
I want to do better at this. It's not about my comfort level, it's about bringing people to Him, being as Christ Like as we can, and living out the words in the Bible that we know to be true.
Will you all join me in this? I want to do this EVERY DAY, but I think Andon's birthday is the perfect day to start stepping out in faith even more.
I love each of you. Thank you so much for the support and love you've shown not only to me, but to our entire family over the past year.
Happy Birthday A!
We love you!

36 Week Appt.

Another good appointment! My blood pressure was 110/70. I hadn't gained weight again (I'm stuck at 20 lbs, which is perfectly fine with me!). I am still measuring right on track. C's heart rate was 133 and he wouldn't hold still (as usual)! The exciting news for me was that I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. She said that that I def. might not make it 'til the 24th and if I am in labor before then she would def. go ahead and do my c/s. I realize I could go back next week and it could all be the same, but it was still exciting to be SOMETHING!

14 Day Challenge- Lesson 7 & Other Thoughts and Corbin's Name Meaning

Lesson #7

Leave a note for your husband that says, "Thank you for wanting to work hard for our family. Your desire & commitment makes me feel secure". Words are healing. Proverbs 16:24 says, "Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."

Hang in there. You are halfway through! Keep an open heart toward God. Let God act on your behalf in response to these plans. Proverbs 16:9 says, "The mind of a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps".

I am excited about this one! I love leaving little notes for Ryan. I used to do it all the time when we were dating, but I don't much anymore... okay, hardly at all anymore... It only takes a few minutues to write that out and put it somewhere for him (I like to leave him notes in his vehicle and make him smile on his way to work)... so I'll sneak out tonight and put it in there so tomorrow morning... which is going to be an emotional day anyway he can have a pick me up first thing!

I can't believe it has been one year tomorrow since Andon was born and went to be with Jesus. Oh, our precious little Andon. As we prepare for his little brother to make his arrival I find it hard to be emotional turmoil. I don't want to be and quite honestly, the big bad one year mark isn't hitting me as hard as I thought it would. I miss Andon. I love Andon. I find myself wondering what it would be like to have a one year old running around our house... how different our lives would be. Don't get me wrong, I am sad. I want him here. I want all three of my boys to take pictures of and kiss and hug and tell I love them... but just like last year, I still have my hope in Jesus. I know I am going to see him again. It makes the thought of Heaven so much more real, so much more tangible. It gives me a whole new lease on living for the Lord. I don't want to come across like I am not sad, like I don't care, because oh believe me, my heart hurts... but Jesus just gives me so much HOPE!

Speaking of hope, I realized I haven't shared the biblical name meaning of Corbin. I came across this AFTER we decided to name him Corbin, but man oh man, it is sooo fitting.
If you look up Corbin it means- black bird; raven. If you look up the biblical meaning you get this--
The raven was the first bird that Noah sent out of the ark.
When the prophet Elijah was hidden by the brook Cherith, God commanded the ravens to supply him with food.
Ravens were used by Jesus as an example of why people should believe in God. Ravens neither sow nor reap, yet they are provided with food by God.

I think our little Corbin is def. example of why people should believe in God. God is so good. Even though Andon went to Heaven, God gave us Corbin. Not as a replacement for our 2nd son, but because having another child was the desire of our hearts. He put Corbin in our lives and in my tummy at the perfect time. He gave us more hope than we deserve. Twenty-two more days at the most 'til we get to meet our 3rd little miracle. I am beyond ready. I am so excited. Yes, a little nervous... especially since the past two February's haven't treated us so well in the baby department... but I have hope that this February is going to be so much better (even if that stinkin ground hog saw his shadow!).

14 Day Challenge-Lesson 6

June 2003

Lesson #6

Think of something that your husband would enjoy doing this evening. Say, "I'd like to watch the football game with you, when is it on"? Or, "I know that you have been talking about cleaning out the garage, I'd like to help". Whatever it is that he would like to do that you may not normally be interested in. If he declines, that is fine. You sent a positive message. If he says ok & the game comes on at 8pm, be there & excited. Maybe even go the extra mile. If he loves the Carolina Panthers, put on some black & blue. Get into it & make it fun!

If while you are spending this time together he says, "You have really changed. What has gotten into you"? Just say, "Thank you. Tell me again about the quarterback. Didn't he just have a run in with the law recently"? Then change the subject. Pull him out on some topic related to the activity. Please do not enter into any relationship discussions or talk about any arguments or negative feelings that you are having. We want you to learn that you can energize your husband simply by being with him.

Okay- so I guess we were supposed to skip Sat. and Sunday, but I didn't follow along and went ahead and posted and did those Lessons too! I guess we'll just be a couple of days ahead if you are doing it with me.
