Great Weekend

We had an amazing weekend. In my book it was PERFECT. We did NOTHING special, but the weather was beautiful and it was time spent w/ my three main men- so it was perfect! I didn't take any pictures b/c I was too busy enjoying the time and getting projects done around the house.

Friday evening we went to Princeton and ate supper & went to Wal-Mart. It has started to become our Friday night ritual. It gets our groceries done before the weekend starts & is low key so we have a chance to just eat & shop and be with each other. I hate walmart, but going w/ the entire family has actually made it more enjoyable. We are all full and in good moods and Princeton walmart is hardly ever busy so we take our time and let B look at guns or whatever sporting equipment he is eyeing that week and just laugh and have a good evening- even at walmart!

Right when we walked in the door we had some surprise visitors- Ryan's friend Spaulding and his wife Jo Ann- she is about to pop any day with their sweet baby girl. It was soo good to chat with them for an hour or so! We don't see them very often.

Saturday mornings Ryan usually goes into work from about 5 until 9 or 10am... this Saturday a machine broke and he didn't get home until almost 1pm. The boys and I snuggled and played in the morning & then around lunch time as I was cleaning up I decided to tackle reorganizing/decluttering the kitchen. It has been on my "To Do" list for quite awhile- I did the bathrooms a couple weeks ago and purging just happens to be one of my fave things as does organizing- in this case re organizing. When we moved in our island wasn't finished so I felt like things were sort of hodge podged and while I have a lot of kitchen cabinets I was not using some of them very wisely! I moved some things around and straightened some others and I'm very happy with the results :) I'm a nerd I know. I cleaned out the fridge and the pantry too so I feel like the kitchen has a fresh start :) Last week I had bought a valance to hang up and I got that hung up. It feels much more "homey".

When Ryan got home around 1pm Corbin was napping so B & Ryan went outside to work and clean out Ryan's truck, clean in the garage etc. etc. We all have spring fever! While they were doing that I cleaned out toys that Corbin has outgrown and added them to my collection of things I had purged from the kitchen. I also decluttered in the office area of the laundry room. The cabinets of that desk area seem to be magnets for junk since it's near our "drop area" right when we walk in the door. Plus, I've been keeping a lot of craft supplies in the cabinets and we all know how those can get out of hand! I came up with a tote and two diaper boxes full of things to get rid of... If you would of asked me if I had that much in my upstairs to get rid of I would of said no way! About the time I finished Corbin woke up and we went outside to play the rest of the evening. We went inside and showered/bathed quickly and ran into town to rent movies and wash Ryan's truck and we ate at China Wok (two nights in a row of not having to cook- sounds good in my book!). When we got home we watched Soul Surfer- what a good family movie that talks a lot about faith. Very inspiring!

Yesterday we missed church- silly time change- living on the line of two time zones and having crazy cell phones doesn't always work well... Ryan hung up my curtains I had bought for the living room and for Corbin's room. He also hung a few things on the wall in the living room. I'm finally starting to get brave and decorate just a little! I had resisted the curtains, but it does look more inviting in each of the rooms we have put curtains in. I still need to get some for B's room and my bathroom and a valance for the glass door in the laundry room that will lead out to the deck (whenever that gets done!). We then went outside and played all day!! Ryan swept out the van for me so that was a nice treat. We rode 4wheelers and the neighbor boys came over to play. I got caught up around the house while C napped. We finished off our evening by watching another movie- it was called My Own Love Song and it was crazy. B said, "It didn't even tell the whole story and my teacher says you have to tell the WHOLE STORY or no one knows what you're talking about..." Lol I have to agree with him- it was a weird movie.

So now that I've bored ya'll to death with my boring (but great to me) weekend I'll stop! I basically just want to type out these things so that I can look back on these not so exciting, but love filled memories of my sweet family.
