4H Fair & Hog Wrestling

B has been looking forward to the annual 4H fair veryyy much this year! Not only were his projects (that he worked very hard on!) going to be on display (plus the normal fair food and rides), but this year he was FINALLY old enough to Hog Wrestle! He has been pumped and counting down the days until it was time! He and three good friends (Gabe Jones, Sam Nelson, and Nolan Nelson) named themselves Hog Warriors. They were definitely the youngest team participating! They were so cute! I used to do this when I was in school and I just love those things I can share memories with him!

Sam, B, and Nolan with their cute shirts we had made!

Gabe, Nolan, Sam, and B before their turn.

Corbin loved the pigs and watching them!

Gabe, Nolan, Sam, and B watching the pigs get all muddy beforehand

Brycen and Tyler DeCoursey

The DeCoursey's came to cheer him on- what great friends we have!

Corbin, me, Vanessa, and Zane

((it was soooo hot we literally felt like our skin was melting off!))

Getting that pig!

Afterward- all muddy!

Nolan, Sam, Gabe, and B

They didn't win, but they sure had a good try! Not to mention the pig was about as big as them!

After we got B all cleaned up (which was a job!) we went up to the 4H building to check out his exhibits. He is just in Future 4H (until 3rd grade) and they all get blue first place ribbons on their projects.

His sewing project. :)

What a silly face- he knows it freaks me out so he loves to make it!

That's his space ship in the back ground for his Space project.

He worked really hard on this project with only a tiny amount of help from his Daddy- I thought he did amazing :) It's hard to see all the details in the picture, but he did a really good job!
He's always been so interested in space and science. We also got a book to talk about how/why/what space ships do (or I guess used to do now).

We walked out to go get our food and ran into miss Mabry and her mom and dad :)

They haven't seen as much of each other this summer as what they are used to (but will get to spend three days together next week so they are excited about that!). They were sooo excited and picking each other up and jumping up and down :)

I love this picture b/c their real personalities are showing!

We ate and then B rode a few rides.

Corbin was sooo good all evening despite the heat and being past his bedtime (Hog Wrestling started when he normally goes to bed and he'd had a short nap so I was a little worried!

Brycen riding a ride with his friends Nolan and Sam :)

After riding we got some ice cream and headed home for COLD showers!!!

Swimming, VBS, Corn, and Cowboys

Last Friday Kennedy asked B to go swimming with her :) Of course he was pumped about that!

They had so much fun and I'm glad he has such sweet friends in his life (with sweet parents as well!).

As I mentioned before he had went to VBS with our friends' the Hunt's all week. On Sunday we went to church there so Brycen could participate in the program. It was so cute and I loved listening to him sing the songs the rest of the afternoon :)

Brycen and Avery

They attend a little country church way out in the country (seriously the tiniest church building I've ever been in and I've been in some small churches!) but they had FORTY-FIVE kids attend VBS each night! I think that's such a great thing! Brycen learned a lot and had a ton of fun. I'm so thankful they asked him to go! :)

After church we went home and had sweet corn for lunch! YUM!!! It was Corbin's first time to try corn on the cob and it was hilarious!

He was a MESS!

He really liked it, but REFUSED to hold it himself- I guess he didn't like how it felt?!

After lunch we just relaxed and enjoyed the afternoon.

Brycen had to go at 5 to be in the 4H parade- it rained!

We were supposed to go to the Jason Sturgeon concert that evening, but it got cancelled :(

The boys wrestling

I think C looks so grown up here!

My little cowboy cutie!

He says this is a real cowboy face :)

We were sad the concert was cancelled, but are looking forward to attending it this weekend instead.

July...

I haven't been posting much so I have a lot of randomness built up :)

just want to remember Corbin and his cute ways at this age.

he always just plops down wherever he is when he is needing a rest (and a drink of course) :)

His shoe drawer in his locker is his favorite place to play :)

Only his though- he never offers to get in anyone else's !

Another place they like to play :)

B pulling Corbin on a blanket... a favorite for both of them!

A couple weeks ago we went to Vanessa's to swim... I think we got more visiting done then swimming though :)
Here is Zane and Corbin!

I can really tell how crazy a kid Corbin is when we're around other kids close to his age! lol

Last Thursday (the 14th) Brittany F. & Chelsey H. had a little birthday party for me at Ryan & Chelsey's :) They made mexican food for supper and chocolate cake for dessert! We visited and had fun laughing at the kiddos! I'm so thankful for sweet friends!

Kenzlie (15 mo), Corbin (17 mo), Blake (2 1/2 mo), and Brycen (6 1/2 yrs)

B loves Blake and wanted to take him home :)

us girls with our kiddos :)

The Hubs & I :)

Last week Brycen also did swimming lessons. He did great and "graduated" early :)

Swimming in the deep end with no fears now (jumping off the diving board, swimming across the pool with his face in the water free style, back stroke, treading water for periods of time, etc). I was so proud of how he threw that timid spirit right out the window and dove right in (literally!).

My birthday was Saturday- the boys got me a cake and this pretty flower! We had went to Evansville Friday night (Ryan, the boys, and I). We went to eat at Logan's, went to a few stores (Babies R Us, Dick's, TJ Maxx), and went to Cold Stone for ice cream. It was a relaxed fun evening. We didn't do anything on my actual birthday except work on the stone on the house (but we're ALMOST done so PTL!)...

Sunday we went to a pool party for the Lengacher family at the Loogootee pool. It was in the evening which was nice so the sun wasn't blaring down. I had Monday off so I didn't mind being out late!

Brycen, Ryan, and Corbin~ my boys!

I was off on Monday for my Birthday Holiday at work. That was nice having an extra day off. I took B to tennis camp and then we went and put Corbin down for a nap and went swimming for a few hours at the Doerner's while he napped.

Brycen has gone to VBS all week with some friends so it has been a late nights for him all week! His 4H projects are due tomr. so we've also had to squeeze in finishing those up!

I'm ready for the weekend- even though it's another busy one!

Holiday World 2011

Ryan and I took B to Holiday World Wednesday. I know some 17 month olds go to Holiday World- but our 17 mo. old just isn't ready for it this year! He wouldn't of stayed sitting for any rides and he doesn't like riding in the stroller and he has no fear in the water which is quite a mess actually when he somehow gets himself out of every sort of floatation device I've tried. Anyway, some people have given me grief for leaving him at home, but it worked out best for us. Hopefully, by next summer he'll be a little less crazy and ready to go with us.

We did have a blast with Brycen even though the heat index was 115 and we had sweat pouring off of us. I've honestly never had that much sweat in my life! We only rode a few rides, ate an early lunch and headed to the water park for most of the day! Even the water was like bath water! I didn't get out my camera except for a few pictures.

Brycen had never wanted to ride any rides like this before, but thought he would this year :)
He loved it, but said he was dizzy :) lol
And of course- the classic HW picture :)

If you have me on fb you should look at the collage of B's hw pics from 2007 to this year... can't believe how much he has grown these past 4 years! It's hard to remember him being so small!

Cook Outs & Wedding

We had a busy, but fun weekend! Friday night we were supposed to go to the Boyd's cookout, but then Ryan had to attend the rehersal for Spaulding's wedding that he was to be an usher in so I wasn't going to go, but then very last minute decided to take the crazy boys myself and Ryan would meet us there later.... well he didn't get there until MUCH later and the boys WERE crazy and I was sooo worn out (Corbin is just crazy I tell ya!), but it was fun anyway! B loves playing with Tyler (Boyd) and he said he made two new friends too, but didn't know their names, lol!

I stole this picture from Jessie off of FB, because Corbin kept me too busy to take any pictures! Corbin played in the water table and then noticed the pool... I thought I'd let him sit on the top step (because I didn't have my suit and didn't want to get in!) and he was down to the fourth step before I had to drag him out screaming! Thankfully, he liked the swing set just as much! Whew!

Saturday Ryan had to be up bright and early to go to Loogootee for pictures for the wedding... the wedding wasn't until two, but he had to be there that morning. The boys and I spent the day around the house. I didn't go to the wedding, but dropped the boys off at my parents around 4pm to meet Ryan at our friends' Clint and Vanessa's so we could all ride together to French Lick for the reception.
We had all gotten a room together for the night and I was looking forward to catching up and spending time with my bestie, but this was the first time I'd ever left Corbin overnight.

I think it helped me since I didn't leave him until 4 and he goes to bed at 7!

Ryan and I before the reception

(he had already changed out of his tux- I'm so mad I didn't get a picture with his tux, b/c he was lookin' fiiiine!:)

Dawn & I
(She used to baby sit me! Ohhh the stories!)

Amber, Vanessa, me, and Dawn

The bride (Jo Ann), Vanessa, and I

This was sooooo late and I was soooo tired!

I know why I go to bed by 10pm every night! lol

Sunday evening we had a cook out with some friends a few miles down the road. It rained most of the time we were there, but the kids still played out in the water awhile (it was freezing!).

Corbin was sooo tired he was begging to go, "Nigh Nigh" :)!

Yesterday, we had the most low key 4th of July ever! Lol, Ryan and my dad got my garage doors functioning and lights in the garage! Super exciting stuff I tell ya! Otherwise, I worked on catching up on house stuff from the weekend. Today feels like a Monday-that is for sure!

Birthday Party & Tennis Camp

The last Saturday in June we had Lilyan's 3rd birthday to go to. It was right at Corbin's nap time and Ryan needed to be working on the house so Corbin napped and Ryan worked (with the monitor hooked on his belt). We got home right as Corbin woke up so it worked out perfect!

B jumping in :)

Poor Lilyan was sick on her birthday so this is the best picture I got of her...

I love this little girlie though :)

Last Monday B was supposed to start tennis camp, but it rained so it got changed to Wednesday for the make up day. I was so glad because then I got to go :)

Corbin and I stayed and watched. Corbin played and ate snacks and was the best little boy the whole time! Yay for that! :)

B picking up balls

Working on his forehand!

He did so well! It was only a group of five and that was awesome- they got so much attention! He has four more days of it and I can't wait to see how much he improves the next time we go to play! I get to go watch him again Monday because my mom will be gone. It's so fun to watch him do something he really enjoys!
