6 Months

I keep thinking I'll take a picture of Corbin for his 6 month post and that I'll write everything down on here- but I haven't gotten to it and I don't want to miss it... so the picture is going to not happen this month! Or maybe I'll get around to it soon... ha! Just wanted to write down some quick facts about what Mr. C is up to these days!


*He is in size 4 diapers... He was still fitting in size 3, but they were right and he was starting to pee out the tops at night so we switched to 4. It's a lot easier to squeeze his bellyicious self into them ;)

*He is in some 6-9 month shorts/tops still, but for everything else it's pretty much 12 mo. (sleepers and all one piece outfits). Seriously? My child is huge!

*He weighs 18.5 and is 27 1/2 inches long... that's 75% for weight and 90% for length! Built like my dad!

*His favorite person is his brother... seriously can't even tell you how happy this makes me... but it still amazes me every day that he can love him so much. Brycen walks in the room and Corbin cracks up laughing. Melt.My.Heart. I've just never seen anything like it. He also reaches for Brycen and then squeezes around his neck like a hug... I totally cried the first time that happened! I dreamt about my boys being best friends then when they were going to be 5 years apart I didn't think that would happen... but God's laughing at me now b/c they totally are. When Brycen gets in the van after school the first thing he says is "HI BROTHER!" And has to kiss him before he buckles!

*His feet are so fat we can't find shoes to fit him. lol, it was the same with w/ Brycen... (I have fat feet too!).

*He growls and it's the cutest thing ever!

*He likes the exersaucer and he has a favorite elephant rattle/stuffed animal that he loves to play with.

*He likes the bumbo seat, but now that he is sitting up pretty independently it's becoming a thing of the past.

*He still loves to eat. He takes about 30-36 oz of formula every day. In the morning he has a fruit and at supper time he has a veggie. We haven't found anything that he doesn't like!

*He is almost at the weight limit on his car seat (it's 20lbs) so I'm going to have to buy a new one... that's a bummer!

*He usually takes a good morning nap (2 to 2 1/2 hours), but an afternoon nap normally doesn't happen unless it's a quick cat nap...

*He goes to bed still around 7:30 and gets up at 8-8:30 if we are just at home... We're still trying to get into a "back to school/babysitter" routine b/c he isn't a morning person and doesn't like me to wake him up at 6:30 and it gets his schedule off for the entire day. I'm afraid I have two boys that do not like to be woken up in the mornings!

*His laugh is the cutest sound ever! He is saying dada A LOT(like ALL day long!). He has said mama a few times and he is really starting to say bubbaaaaaa a lot. Especially in the car when he can see B.

*He loves to be outside still and if he is upset you can take him out and he'll immediately become happy... hope it's not too long of a winter!

*When we got to the rental house is the first time he'd ever slept in his own room, but he has done great. He is such an easy baby and so flexible.

*Every where we go people just eat him up and I think he can't figure it out! lol, he just kind of stares at them like, "what are you doing?" lol!

*He is super ticklish and when you change his clothes he just heehaws!

Like always I'm sure there are things I am forgetting, but these are some basics.... we just love our little man so much and can't get enough of him!

Soccer Practice

Soccer season is starting... we start games on Saturday.

Brycen is so much more coordinated this year- I can already tell!

The field is 3 times the size this year- it looks huge!

we are still amazed at how much they look alike in baby pictures.

Corbin had to go to the dr. today- it ends up it's just a common summer cold. The last time I thought that though he ended up with an ear infection so I figured I better take him. Poor little guy has so much snot he can't breathe though :( Hopefully, he'll be over it soon, but the dr. said the cold'sbeen lasting 5-7 days :(

Back to School

I was off on vacation all last week (for Brycen's last week at home before Kindergarten).

We spent every a.m. in our pj's cuddled up on the couch together.

These two cuddle ALL the time- I LOVE IT!

Corbin can be restless and grouchy and if B cuddles him on the couch he is a happy little guy right away.

I wanted to do some fun things with Brycen last week, but we were so busy with moving we didn't get to do as much as I wanted. We did go to the Splash Park on Monday night and to play at the regular park on Wednesday (but I don't have pictures of that, I was trying not to sweat to death!).

His smile makes my day.

It's sad, but it's also fun b/c his personality is really showing.

Wednesday night we had "Meet the Teacher Night" for Kindergarten.

Friday was Brycen's first day of school. I always love the "back to school feeling", BUT when it means my baby is starting Elementary School, I was not ready for it.

I lost it during the storytime. It was okay though, six other moms were there too and they were all crying as well. His teacher was telling us how she was going to love them like her own and wow, glad I had tissues!

It helps that I have known Michelle (his teacher) my whole life... I can't imagine him having a stranger! I know, I know, I have issues! lol

I am glad he is so okay with it and LOVES school so far this year, but it just makes him seems so much older!

Today he rode the bus for the first time.

He is sooo excited about that!

Me on the other hand, well, I'm trying not to think of the high schooler that poured Mt. Dew in my hair when I was in Kindergarten... yikes!

The plan is still for them to start breaking ground on our drive/basement at the end of this week... we'll see! We're getting there though- and now that we have a rental I'm not nearly as anxious!

Update...

I have not updated in quite awhile (awhile for me anyway!). I hate getting behind, but I have just not been very motivated lately!

This is part of the fun of getting to live w/ your 20 yr. old uncle for awhile :)

The weekend before last we went to Owensboro for a cookout- it was SOOOO hot we about all melted, but despite that we had good food and great fun w/ friends that we love like family.
Corbin stayin cool and drinking from a sippy :) lol, he chews as much as he drinks, but it's good practice and he thinks he is big stuff!

His clothes came off right away and he was in his diaper all day-- too hot for clothes!

That same weekend we went to the fair- Brycen wore his "McDonald for Prosecutor" t-shirt (that's my boss- up for re-election this year).
We went to the Jason Sturgeon concert at the fair.

My best friend from high school, Chelsea had her little baby boy on Monday evening. Tuesday Corbin, my mom, and I went to The Women's Hospital to see them!

He weighed 8lbs 15oz and was 22 in. long!

I think we finally found a rental house! I am so excited! They are supposed to break ground next week on our house- not holding my breath though! haha!

Dew (Do?) Rags

Seriously, I think my boys are soo stinkin' cute and the dew (do?) rags make them look hilarious and so cute too! We had a busy/fun weekend and I have an update to do on it, but no time (or energy today). We have...

A SITTER!!!

Corbin has been wanting to sit up more and more and be in on the action... Just this week he has started sitting on his own! He does really well until he decides to throw himself backwards (bad habit he has when sitting on laps or being held as well). He's not steady enough to just leave and let play yet, but I'm sure in a couple of weeks he will be. I just can't believe my baby is sitting. I went back and lookd at B's baby book and he was sitting well at 5 months it said... That's what C is too so I guess I should of saw it coming, but it just makes him seem so much older!

Friday was my birthday.

We went to a car show in Princeton.

Brycen loves hot rods and police so this was the perfect old car for him.

The nice guy let him sit in it and turned on the lights and sirens.

He said this was his favorite!

This was a joke b/c you have to be 25 in order to drive my dad's hot rod for insurance purposes. It was my 25th birthday so I said Yayy I get to drive it! haha!

He is a little protective of "the girl" and by that- I mean the car! lol

We had my birthday dinner Saturday evening.
