Show Us Where You Live-- Dining Room Edition (And a bunch of other stuff!)

Well once again it is Show Us Where You Live Friday! I didn't participate last week b/c it was the guest room edition, and our guest room was turned into a nursery sooo. Anyway, here is our dining room, which is the room this week that Kelly is show casing!

Here is our dining room looking in from the kitchen-- I really don't like the dining room b/c it doesn't feel "put together". All the pieces are mismatch and most really aren't my style... Hubby has a lot of influence of furniture pieces in this room.

This little white hutch we got before we the year we were married from Ryan's Grandma Lengacher's auction. We got it for only $25.oo. It is an antique, we seen it on the "antique road show" tv show and it said it was worth around $ 700.00. We got it for our first house b/c our kitchen was tiny (but had awesome cabinets and appliances!) and we had the perfect spot for it. We then found out it was Ryan's mom's when she was a little girl, she had it in her bedroom, so that makes it special! The bowls inside we also got most of at his Grandma's auction. The decoration on top is two things we got when we lost Andon & the Box Ryan made me and I put the "Home" on there, it is uppercase living!

These are our Place Mats. I got them b/c they are springy/summery and I like to decorate the dining room around the season. These come from Olde Country Barn in town and I really love them!

I thought this centerpiece was appropriate, especially for this season and for the season of our lives right now. It was a gift after we lost Andon as well, I think it could also be used as a garden stone.

I really love this little cabinet (way my style!) I keep extra pots and pans in here and a few extra cans of fresh canned green beans! I saw that towel idea at the craft store (yes, Olde Country Barn) and thought it was a cute idea, it really added a little something something to this cabinet :). I will change out the towel w/ the season as well (this was a new idea early this spring).
This cabinet Ryan got from his Grandma Knepp's auction. His Grandpa Knepp made it. Everything inside it we got when we lost Andon :( The two candle holders w/ sayings on top we also got then. The hat on top was Ryan's Grandpa Knepp's (cool, huh?!). The wooden photo boxes above it Ryan got me for my birthday a couple years ago. The wooden box underneath is the "fancy silverware" Ryan's Grandma Knepp got us for our wedding... I really need to find a better place for it.
This is looking into the kitchen from the dining room.
This is looking up into the family room.

This is looking from the family room down into the dining room. That door on the right leads to our garage. The tractor and trailer on the left (that you can kinda see) is of course Brycen's. I thought about moving it, but in all actuality, more times than not, you find it somewhere in the dining room (tile makes for great tractor riding!) :).
Well that's my dining room, thanks for visiting, I would love advice on how to have matching furniture pieces lol.
Last Friday we took church directory pictures on Friday evening. Ours turned out terrible. I didn't like them of any of us really... oh well, we were just not very photogenic that day. The photographer was super nice though and funny, he even had me laughing! Afterward we went to visit Shawn and Audrey and the girls for a bit and then we all went to Rich and Miss's for pizza. We watched a movie afterward and were late getting home, it was a good time though, as usual!
Brycen-- who knows? I think him and Akaysha were talking about something.
Saturday I had to work directory pictures all day b/c I am on that committee. I worked them with Audrey, and the day really flew by b/c we just talk a lot :). It was actually nice to have adult conversation. I also got to meet some people from church that I hadn't really gotten to yet, so that was nice as well. We didn't get out of there until almost 7, I was so tired! Ryan & B went to his Grandma Knepp's birthday party. I went to Wal-Mart since they were getting ready to leave the party when I got done at the pictures. I got groceries and headed home. While I was in Wal-Mart I got my brother's graduation card... Yah, I would like to say I didn't stand in the middle of the aisle boo hooing like a big baby, but I did. I'm soooo sad he is graduating. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of him, but I'm sad too. Anyway, I went home then and was in bed early that night.
Sunday we went to church with my parents and brother and grandma b/c it was senior day at their church. They had a breakfast for the seniors and then honored them durning the service. It was really nice. I still can't believe my baby brother is graduating TONIGHT :(. After church we went home and hung out. We went to my parents for supper. We also went over to visit some friends at their new house.
Monday after work, me, my momma, and my cousin Brooke went to Washington and got pedicures! We had gift certificates so that made it even better, since they were free! :) Afterwards we went to eat at Masons, which you all know is one of my faves!
Tuesday night we were just around the house, I cooked supper and we all played outside really late! We also found out that Todd & Kayla are having a girl (my cousins that lost the twins!).
Wednesday I was off all day. Went to the dentist that morning for my check up, then had a few errands to run. I picked up B and we played all afternoon outside. Two very special babies were also born on Wednesday. My cousin Tosha had her baby girl and Bri had baby Abigail! Blessings all around :). I had supper in the crock pot so that was easy clean up and then we played outside that night again until dark! My mom and Grandma from Martinsville came over to visit for a bit.
Yesterday was a crazy day. I came into work until 9:30 and then it was off to B's field trip to the Washington park.
eating our picnic lunch at the park :) I <3>
B going down the slide, he called it "the circle slide" :)
"the digger" he said this is his favorite lol, doesn't take much to please him!
on the teeter totter w/ cousin Ashlyn :) he LOVED this as well
He had so much fun on this field trip. I think this was my favorite one of his pre-school field trips too, because it was so relaxed. The kids could just run around and play and they were all SO good! Afterwards, we ran to Wal-Mart to pick up a couple things and then we went home. We took a nap... we were both so tired, B ended up sleeping until 5pm! We all had to then get ready for his pre-school program! He got a certificate for knowing The Pledge of Allegiance and a certificate for completing the first year of pre-school. They sang songs and they were too cute. He also had a speaking part, his was, "The Leopard is a great climber. He spends a lot of time cat napping in the tree." He did sooo well! I was so proud of him! He got a little surprise from momma and daddy afterward. :) I can't believe he is done w/ his first year of pre-school, kinda makes me want to puke. hehe.
I couldn't get a very good picture, but here is B getting his certificate from his teacher Ms. Maria, or "ria" as he calls her. He gave her flowers before the performance and he thought that was just wayyy too cool :).
After the performance was over we had to rush out of there to get to Princeton to watch my brother in sectional. We barely made it, but we did get to see him! His relay team advanced on to regionals with a third place finish. They had their best time of the season. Joe got 5th place in the 3200 (2 mile), there were 12 teams in our sectinonal and each team can have more than 1 runner, so there were quite a few in his face. He was NOT pleased b/c his time wasn't as good as it was last week and he missed going to regional by 1 spot. My heart hurts for him b/c I know he is really bummed about it, but I would be proud of him if he got last place! 5th place is nothing for him to hang his head about. I just love him so much and hate seeing him upset.
Joseph Andrew Chamberlain, my baby brother.
After the meet we took B to dairy queen for ice cream in princeton (how dare they sell the DQ in petersburg, i was devasted!). We got ours to go and ate it on the way home. YUMMY! It was late when we got home (like 10:30pm!), it was so late since p-ton is an hour behind us. We were all very ready to get in bed!
Today it is so beautiful outside. I went and ate lunch w/ my momma, cousin, grandma from martinsville, grandma judy, and my aunt stacy. My heart is breaking and I have mixed emotions b/c my baby brother graduates tonight. I never thought it would be this hard for me, but I'm a person who doesn't exactly care for change in my life, and this is going to be a big change for all of us. I'm so proud of him and happy for him to be moving on to the next stage of his life, he has came so very far, but I'm devasted to not see him just whenever I want, to not have his unexpected visits to just pop in and say "hey", for him to be away for the majority of the next four years and miss out on B growing up (b loves his uncle joe!). I know we will still see him, but it just won't be the same. I'm so proud of the man he is becoming and very blessed to have him as my brother. He has such a big heart and he can always make me laugh.
We will have a very busy weekend b/c of all the graduation activities-so I'm sure I'll have another big post early next week-- then it's time to get ready for the CRUISE!!! :)

I can identify with being blue over your brothers grad. My baby bro graduated last year and I found myself kind of sad too. It's been a rough year too because he hit his rebellion now after high school and in fact just recently moved in with his girlfriend in another province!!! It has been very hard for me...he might not even be here when our baby is born :o( and it makes me really sad. Hopefully your brother will do better once he leaves high school.
Are you going on a cruise to celebrate his grad? We went on one last summer with my family to celebrate MY brother's grad! We cruised in the mediteranean. Where are you going?

Love you week recaps, you are so good at remembering the details. I thought like courtney on the table, it would tie everything together, or something less permanent would be a country style tablecloth!
