I am not a fan of our laundry room. It has a 1/2 bath in it? Weird? I think so... We have never done anything to it since we moved in... besides hanging a sign on the wall that says "laundry". No paint. No nothing. I dispise it. Everytime I get ready to paint in here Ryan tells me no... darn husbands :) . Obviously I can't move the washer and dryer out myself and he says that is too much work for just a little paint when we have other stuff to do, SOOO here is my plain jane, butt ugly, despised laundry room... but on the bright side of things, I have working, only a few years old, washer and dryer... i don't have to go down to the creek or anything ;) sooo all ideas welcome and if you suggest a paint color-- i'll share it with ryan, safety in numbers!! hehe.

Looking in from the doorway... the half bath part... the cabinet is old and trashy... so is the toliet... the shelves beside the cabinet don't match? and we never got around to changing the ugly switch plates. you know the sad thing is, i do like the trashcan in here... you can't really see it though... excuse the happy feet movie playing in the mirror :) hehe

washer and dryer area... where the dirty work gets done :) it's so cluttered on the shelves, i wish they had doors... i can barely reach them so i just kind of shove the stuff back up there. and we have no where else to keep the vacuum. OBNOXIOUS.
anyway- that's my laundry room. help me people :)

I've never heard of a half bath in a laundry room, but it's a neat concept. You made it look like two separate rooms. Thanks for sharing.
I had a half bath in my laundry room in my last house. I think you can do a lot to the area, there are some great ideas on some of the others doing this tour! I'd like to see what you do!
You have a very unique/multitasking room there! I think you have done a great job. There are 2 definite areas! You could always use a room divider/screen to close off the washer/dryer area as well! Thank you for sharing your room!
OMG tell Ryan that paint does AMAZING things! Lol. You would be suprised how much of a difference it would be with a little paint. Especially a bright color to cheer it up.
Our laundry room is long and narrow and with the washer, dryer, water heater & freezer in there it just pretty much a long narrow walk way. I hate that I dont have much storage but oh well. It works for what I have to do!
What a lovely family! Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog! Blessings to you and your little Brycen and Andon. :-)
I love the space - I think I might make a sign for our laundry "room" that says "where the dirty work gets done" - I love that -
Lol, thanks! Here is what you do- buy the paint and start painting it before he gets home then he has no choice but to help move the washer and dryer so you can finish..lol. Wow I sound like a submissive little wife dont I?? I really dont do stuff like that often!
I like some of the other girls ideas about the room dividers and showing it as 2 separate spaces. Paint does wonders and isn't too expensive. I just happen to paint while my hubby is at work then he has no choice but to like it or help me. :) Goodluck.
I've never heard of a half bath in a laundry room either! I guess if you get so busy doing laundry, you always have a place to go potty! HA! I love the shelving you have and there are a ton of options you can do in the room. I'm horrible at design. That's why I love these tours - ideas, ideas, ideas :)
My in laws have a half bath / laundry room! And don't feel bad, our vaccuum is normally in our's too! Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog!
Painting WOULD make a big difference! 320 Sycamore had a Paint Party with lots of suggestions on paint colors. Head over there and find you one!
Well, at least if you have to pee while doing laundry you are hooked up!:-)
We have some friends whose laundry room has a half bath. They have a beautiful toile curtain hanging from the ceiling to hide the washer/dryer. I'd sand that vanity down and paint it black with the distressed look. Then you could do any color of a curtain you wanted- black damask, blue toile, red...endless possibilities. I'd keep the wall color lighter and more neutral if you don't have a window. But you know what, you're right- you are not washing your laundry in the creek and there are still millions who do something along that line. We're blessed!
I'd put up a curtain with some tie backs to make it easy for you to go in and out when doing laundry. When not you can leave them closed. I agree with the other poster who said sand the cabinet and paint it black. A nice taupe on the walls and new hardware onthe cabinet. I also agree with just start painting it...if he still won't move the washer/dryer just paint as close as you can. You will be the only one to kow the walls behind aren't painted.
I think having a bathroom is cool, I did see it once on HGTV LOL!! Thank you so much for coming by my blog and saying hi, I hope you had a great weekend!
