Soup-er Friday-- Weekend Edition!
She started this a few weeks ago and I kinda sorta haven't gotten around to posting anything yet. I thought I'd go ahead and make up for the past few weeks...
The first week was soup.
The easiest I make is veggie soup. It's one of my favorites. My grandma's is way better than mine, but I usually always have all the stuff laying around to make this sooo....
I use my crock pot. Simmer on low for 8 hours or cook on high for 5-6.
You'll need-
Package of Frozen stew meat (chunks)
Big can of tomato juice
veggies
salt and pepper
1-2 pototatos chunked or 1 can of potatos sliced
I just stick the stew meat i nthe bottom of my crock pot (still frozen), but if you need it faster thaw it out first.
I usually just use a bag of frozen mixed veggies and dump on top of the meat
I also normally just use a can of potatoes (we're going for quick to prepare here people). Drain the water off and pour in.
Then I put the salt and pepper on top of all the stuff and then pour on the tomato juice.
Put the lid on the crock pot and let your house start smelling like fall :) I usually stir once everything is unthawed, but you wouldn't have to.
We just had this last week and it was pretty yummy :) The leftovers are good heated up too!
I think the Second Week was appetizers or Football game food :)
My nacho cheese dip is what I usually "fall back" too... it's quick and simple and always good!
You'll need-
a jar of salsa
1 box of mexican velveeta
1/4-1/2 cup of milk, depending on how creamy you like it
also, if I don't have mexican velveeta I usually always have regular velveeta and you can substitute that and then use a can of nacho cheese soup.
Put in crock pot and melt.
Good w/ doritos too :)
This week is breakfast foods! I'm not a huge breakfast eater... actually in 8th grade our health teacher (he was really mean and smoked like a chimney) wanted us to keep a food diary. We had to try and be healthy and eat every meal... I refused to eat breakfast and ended up standing in the back of the room for refusing to eat breakfast and writing "nothing" in my food diary. My mom was like, "Chelsa, just WRITE SOMETHING, ANYTHING"... Nope, I wouldn't do it. I used to be really stubborn... oh who am I kidding, I still am! That's like the only trouble I got into in school (well, besides for talking!). :) Back to the sticky buns--
These need prepared the night before.
Grease bundt pan well. Line bottom of pan with chopped pecans (you can leave the pecans out, I don't like them so I don't use them). Drop 24 (or how many ever will fit in your pan) dough rolls (1 pkg Riches frozen rolls) over nuts (or no nuts!). Sprinkle with one small package of butterscotch pudding (NOT INSTANT PUDDING).
Melt 1/2 cup butter, 3/4 cup brown sugar, and 3/4 tsp. of cinnamon. Mix and drizzle over rolls. Sprinkle with more nuts (or not if you don't want too!). Cover with foil and let stand on the counter overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 min. Do not over bake (so check them before the 25 minutes is up!). Turn the pan upside down as soon as it comes out of the oven... onto a pan or whatever you want.
YUM YUM YUM! Easiest sticky buns ever and sooo good!
Hope ya'll go over and share your recipes b/c I love getting new ideas :)

Some Sneak Peaks
Here is the laundry room before. EW.
This is the front living room before... you can't tell so much from this picture, but this carpet was stained TERRIBLY! Just ask anyone that's been to my house! Wednesday, September 30, 2009
Poor B :(
This is this morning. He looks a lot better than he did yesterday.
His new breathing mask they gave him at the hospital, it has a dinosaur on it :)
My cabinet doors were supposed to go back up yesterday, but the dumb hinge people didn't send the hinges with the knobs... Ryan was quite irate because when he called he asked if they were in stock and they said yes and then on the order paper it said "backordered".... I wasn't there, but I have a feeling those people got quite the chewing out yesterday from him when he called. Our carpet is being installed today though! And Ryan just called me and he went ahead and ordered the hinges from a different place and they should deliver them to the shop tomorrow. I hope so, I'd love to get everything back in my cabinets!

This Rainy Week
Tuesday night I caught up on laundry while Ryan worked in the kitchen (exciting life, huh?!).
Wednesday was my day off! B and I went and had lunch w/ my mom at her work and then went over to her house to make up meatballs for supper. We got those made and then went home and just layed around. We had supper at my mom's... and then we came home and Ryan worked in the kitchen some more while I worked on getting all my maternity clothes hung up in the closet. I'm really starting to need them.
Last night Ryan worked in the kitchen some more and I took the "family bassinet" over to Todd and Kayla to use for Kaydee Mae when she gets here. It was my grandma's bassinet and pretty much everyone in our family has used it! I'm so glad Kaydee will get to use it too! She'll be done in plenty of time for our sweet baby to get to use it too. I visited with them for awhile and then went home. We had leftovers for supper and then realized we had a problem b/c our hot water in the kitchen was turned off... I woke up to a sink full of dishes this morning :( Ryan turned it off so he could move the dishwasher out so he could get the counter tops off... oh it's just a mess!
Please say a prayer for Todd and Kayla and Kaydee Mae... she is 36 weeks and 1 day today. Yesterday at her appointment her liver enzymes were elevated...which is a sign of PE, but she had no other symptoms. The specialist wanted her to do a 24 hr. urine today while Dr. R wanted to go ahead and take her cerclage out. The specialist won... and then this morning Kayla woke up w/ spotting, cramps, and stomach pain. They are at Dr. Reisinger's office now and I'm awaiting to hear news from my Aunt Lisa. It's making me a nervous wreck. I can only imagine how they feel. She is set to get her cerclage out on Tuesday anyway... I will feel much better when Miss Kaydee Mae is HERE. She was already 5lbs at 33 weeks so she will be plenty big enough :) So if you get a chance just pray for them and that Kaydee makes here safe and that her momma is healthy.
Tonight I need to go to Walmart, but that might get put off until tomorrow... Brycen is supposed to have soccer in the morning, but with this crazy weather, I'm not sure if he will. We will for sure be working in the kitchen tonight... or at least Ryan will be. I think he is going to paint! This weekend is going to be a little crazy b/c we also have to get the front living room painted so it will be ready for the new carpet on Wednesday (we got it pushed back a day so that it will be on my day off). I can't wait to show ya'll pictures of the finished look! I thought about showing progress pictures, but really, everything is such a mess I decided I wouldn't. Sunday I'm helping w/ my friend Shannon's baby shower so that will keep me busy! I'm so excited, baby Smith will be here before we know it!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
