Catch Up

I usually try to stay caught up on here on our every day lives... haven't been doing so hot at it this past week though!

Last Wednesday B and I really did enjoy our day at home. We just hung out and played all day. I tried to clean some (which is really hard when your house is a disaster from all the projects going on!)... but otherwise we just played a lot of Go Fish and hung out together!

Thursday I don't really remember what we did that evening, but Ryan did bring home my island for the kitchen! I was excited about that! Our kitchen finally kind of sort of looks like a real kitchen. We still have the tile work to do for the back splash in there, but it is such a messy project he is waiting until he has all our other projects completed before tackling that one.

Friday my mom and my cousin Brooke (aka Booger) and I went to Edinburgh shopping! We dropped B off at his friend Isaac's to play for the day (Rich and Melissa's). He has a blast there while momma wore herself out shopping! Ryan picked B up after he got done working and they hung out at home for the evening. I got Ryan a lot of new stuff (which he definitely needed), and I got B a new winter coat and a few other things he needed... and of course we had to get C a few things too :) I picked out a few things my mom is getting me for Christmas... it's hard to shop for yourself when you're pregnant, but I'm sure the super cute boots I got will still fit in Dec. :) hehe! I also got a new winter coat... last year I broke the zipper off of my casual one... maybe it's b/c my belly was too big? lol. Anyway, we ate lunch at Max and Erma's (yummy soup and sandwiches!) and supper at Texas Roadhouse. My mom dropped me off about 9pm so it wasn't too late, but it was late for me! I was worn out!

Saturday morning we got up and went to the shot clinic for the little kids... Brycen did get vaccinated for the H1N1. He has asthma pretty bad and that's just not a chance I'm willing to take. His pediatrician always recommends him to get the flu shot and this year he said this one too... I know everyone has differing opinions and I'm not debating the matter... Just stating that we did wait in line for 3 hours for him to get a shot. He does so great w/ getting shots and I'm so proud of him for being such a big boy. Hopefully they will have the kinks worked out and when we go back in a month we won't have to wait nearly as long. After the shot clinic we went to the Hardware store in town (Brycen's favorite store ever!) and we got him an accessory to his Halloween costume ;) Then we ate lunch at China Wok. YUM! Ryan and Brycen were "worker men" all afternoon while I tried to get some stuff done around the house. I will be so glad when the house is put back together so that I can actually clean and you can tell I've cleaned!

This is what my little worker man looked like. He said he was just going to "rest" for a few minutes b/c being a worker man is hard work! lol. Notice- cowboy boots are filthy AND on the wrong feet. He has on a tool belt AND four wheeler gloves... and worker man headphones are beside him :) This just makes me smile b/c it is sooo him and gosh I love him!

Sunday we went to church and had communion service. Then we went out and put new fall flowers on Andon's headstone. The old ones were faded... and I wanted to get some pretty fall flowers out there... I got some that had little pumpkins on them too :) Brycen knew just which one was Andon's... amazed me since we've only been there 2 times before... After that we went to Ryan's parents to visit his Grandma Knepp for awhile since she was leaving for Fla. that night. We ended up eating lunch there, even though that wasn't our plan. We were just around the house all evening. I actually read a book for awhile. I really love to read, but don't make time to do it as often as I'd like (a hardback Karen Kingsbury that I got at the bargain bookstore in Edinburgh for only 4.99!).

Yesterday was work and then after work Ryan and I got all the outside windows washed... I got spoiled at our first house b/c we had windows that pulled in. It's a lot more hard work when they don't! There are some I still can't reach even on the little ladder so Ryan helped me with those (yes I'm practically a midget, I know!). I was thankful for his help though it made things a lot easier for me! Jumping up and down on a ladder trying to reach the tops of windows probably is real smart for anyone, let alone a 22 wk pregnant woman! :) Not that I would know anything about jumping up and down on a ladder trying to reach EVER ;) hehe After getting all those done I felt really happy b/c it was something that really needed done... now I just have to get the insides done! The outsides were terrible though from them getting all the crops out of the fields by our house last week. EW it was dirty. We had spaghetti (my favorite) for supper and I started laundry, but didn't get it finished before bedtime. Ryan and B went to visit his friend Spaulding who is in town for a few days. I was thinking about it and I can't tell you the last time I had "alone time" to just hang out by myself and not have something that I was doing (like dr's appt or bible study). It was actually really relaxing! When the boys got home we got ready for bed and read a few books and then B and I crashed for the night.

B and I were really early this morning so I treated him to a donut from Jay C (YUM!)... plus I was craving one! haha. He is so excited b/c the Fire Truck is coming to his pre-school today! We have a busy rest of the week... tonight I have Bible Study and Ryan is going to help his friend Spaulding at the house he is remodeling, tomorrow is our normal day off, but we have a field trip to the pumpkin patch w/ his school and then Ryan is doing stuff around our house-- hopefully finishing up trim work, Thursday night we have B's pizza party and awards for soccer, and Friday B gets to come to momma's work w/ his school trick or treating and then I'd say we will go a few places that evening to let him trick or treat... I'm worn out already!

Thankful Thursday

Brycen dressed himself this morning... well at least part of his outfit... can you guess which part? lol. He found this tie in his closet yesterday and I guess he thought he needed to wear it to school. I almost told him no, but he said please, and man, he looked so cute!
It really just cracked me up for the most part. I tried to explain that ties go w/ dress shirts, but he didn't care and didn't want a dress shirt on, so this is how he went to school.
I'm so thankful for a precious little boy who makes me smile... even at 6:30 in the morning! :)

Dr's appt. and Mini- Blog Convention at Walmart :)

I had my dr's appt. yesterday w/ Dr. R. Everything looks good so far. I had gained 2 more lbs (in 2 weeks!) so that brings me to a total of 9 so far. My BP was 110/70 and Corbin's heart rate was 160. When she put the doppler on my belly he got his heart rate he kicked it really hard, Dr. R was like, whooaaa!! Which led her to ask about his movement. I told her I feel him often, but it just doesn't feel as hard as the other two did. She looked in my file and my placenta this time is located anterior to baby so when he is kicking he is kicking the placenta and that makes it not feel as hard as if he was just kicking me. My friend T told me this was a possibility, guess she is pretty smart, huh ;) I go back in two weeks, on November 3rd, just for another check up. We had to wait forever yesterday and I had B w/ me. He was sooooo good and very patient. Afterward, we went to Cold Stone and got ice cream! I had to hurry home then to get to Bible Study. I was worn out, but it was so worth it. We talked about Affliction. If you are reading this today (Wednesday) look at the verse-a-day to the right of this post and that pretty much sums it up! After Bible Study I thought I would go ahead and get Wal-Mart over with so B and I would have this whole day to do what we wanted, especially since I was already out and right close by, it seemed silly to make another trip today. I did go to Wal-Mart... and I was exhuasted. We had a mini- blogger convention right in the produce aisle :) I saw Jamie K. and Courtney there too! We were laughing b/c we were all so tired, but just wanted to get Wal-mart out of the way. It was 10:45 by the time I got home (almost 2 hours past the time I normally go to bed!). I got my groceries put away and my fell asleep right away! Thankfully today is Wednesday and B and I slept in again! We are just hanging out today... I'm so glad to not have any plans. I'm ready for it to warm up this afternoon so we can play outside. I'm doing laundry and need to think of something to do for supper, but otherwise I'm just going to enjoy hanging out w/ my boy... who is currently watching, what else, but Handy Manny! :)

Hope you all enjoy this beautiful day that the Lord has made!!

21 Weeks

21 Weeks down- 17 to go!
My back has been absolutly killing me. Seriously, people think about it before you let your little girls be in gymnastics too many years! My nightly baths have returned and I'm sure will be around for the remainder of this pregnancy. This little man must be pretty high b/c I can feel him under my ribs already and have a hard time breathing most of the day/evening. I also didn't sleep well last night... I'm hoping it was a one time thing and not my insomnia returning from last winter. Oh yah, did I mention heartburn and indegestion?
Despite all that, I feel really good. So far this pregnancy hasn't been as hard on me as mine was with Andon... maybe b/c I didn't have enough time to forget all the aches and pains! Also, I'm not pushing myself as hard. I'm not trying to mop my floors every week or carry all the heavy dirty laundry across the house myself. I'm playing more Go Fish and eating more (okay, maybe just the same amt!) ice cream. I'm trying to allow others to help me take good care of myself so I can stay healthy and keep C in for as long as possible.
Did I mention that I ordered shirts for my boys... So excited about them! I can't wait to get them. Brycen's has a big B on it in cute fabric and underneath it has emboirdered "Big Bro" Corbin's is matching with a big C in cute fabric and underneath emboirdered with "Lil' Bro"! I got them in long sleeves (shirt for B and onesie for C) and I'm planning on them wearing them on our coming home day! Okay, enough gushing.
Mr. C is becoming more and more active by the day. B loves to talk to C just like he did to A. Tonight he was kissing my belly and telling him how they would drive nascars together and monster trucks and they would take baths and splash each other and he would let him use his shaver (pretend one!), but only if he didn't eat the shaving cream! I cherish these things and can't wait to see them together outside my womb... something I never got to do w/ him and A... I'm so thankful he was so involved throughout my whole pregnancy with A.
I know I'm all over the place tonight aren't I?
Dr's appointment tomorrow so I'll have another little update on that!

Weekend Fun

I never seem to be able to figure out how the weekends go so quick! Friday evening we went to Mi Pueblo and met Ryan's parents and Sonya and her family to eat for Marilyn's birthday. I never get tired of going there to eat! It was a nice evening and we beat the crowd so that was even better!
Brycen and Jayce... B just can't be serious!
Sonya and I (Sonya, I can't look at this picture now w/out laughing!! haha!) :)

My baby boy and I <3>
On our way home we dropped B off at my parents to spend the night. My brother was home from school and B was so excited and wanted to stay there to be with him.
Now, let me tell you, I RARELY let him spend the night anywhere... (just ask my mom and mother in law, I'm sure they get annoyed w/ Ryan and I both, but we love having him home w/ us and we miss him during the week while we work so we rarely let him stay somewhere unless it's needed)... So this was hard for me to let him stay, but it was 8 by the time we dropped him off anyway I guess... We got home and I just miss him so much... Ryan and I watched a few shows and hung out and it was just too quiet!

Yesterday morning we got up and my mom and B and my grandma came over bright and early so we could get started on painting the entry, kitchen, and hall way. We did get those done... after I had a slight meltdown and decided I hated the first color and we had to go buy different paint. I have to say I do love the second color I got though! After we were done w/ our part of the paint job and Ryan was going to work on more trim my mom, B, and I snuck away to go to a craft show in Jasper. It wasn't near as big as I remember it being in the past, but we did pick up a few things... I've been wanting a cute growth chart for B, but could never find one to match his room. We found one that's a John Deere Tractor! Perfect.
When we got home we had a few things to do and then had to get ready to go eat. We went to Vincennes to Montana Mikes to eat w/ my brother. I miss him so much while he is at school. This is only the 3rd time we've seen him since August so it was nice to visit.
When we got home and we just hung out for awhile and rested.

getting a good picture of these two is like pulling teeth! seriously. :)

goober. i never can resist that huge cheesey grin though!

can you see anything different? this is one thing ryan worked on while we were gone on Saturday... it's standing in the entry way looking through the kitchen into the dining room.... if you've been to my house or seen enough pictures you should be able to tell something different! it looks so weird! we weren't sure we were going to do this, but ryan made more work for himself :) it will look really good when it is done though!

Today I have had a headache all day :( BOO. We went and had supper at my parents before my brother had to leave to go back to school. We were only there for like an hour. Currently, I'm sitting here getting kicked by little Corbin. He has been pretty feisty this weekend! :) I think he likes all the sugar I've been eating (I made Cinnamon Rolls this morning). We are also watching America's Funniest Home Video's... I remember watching this with my family when I was little. B loves it and laughs hysterically. I'm not sure which is funnier for me, the show, or listening to his big boy laugh! Ryan is worn out from all the work he has been doing the past few weeks. I know he will be glad when all this is done... I told him I would get him an "easy" button for Christmas :) haha.

Last couple of Days and 2 more sneak peaks :)

Tuesday evening after work I headed to Washington to meet Tera at her house... and then we headed to pick up Jenn and then on to Tonya's for Bible Study. I couldn't go last week because of my appointment and going to Owensboro afterward, but I was really looking forward to this week. They didn't disappoint :) I had a great evening w/ some great ladies and learned that I'm a truth monster ;) haha! Seriously, though it is a dvd series and the lady, Martha Peace (sp?) is hilarious! I am trying really hard to be more compassionate and loving with EVERY word that comes out of my mouth... because we don't get "time outs" from being loving! Even though I don't go to church w/ these ladies they really made me feel welcome and I appreciate it so much, because I've really been needing that!

Yesterday I was glad it was my day off... Brycen and I got up and snuggled and watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Then we got in the rainy nasty weather and went to Wal Mart. I really didn't want to get out of my pj's, but we really needed stuff (as always!). We had lunch at Taco Bell (YUM!). We came home and I got the groceries unloaded and put away and supper started in the crock pot. I used Courtney's recipe for the Ranch House Pork Chops, but used chicken breasts instead b/c that's what I had at home... They were sooo good! Ryan isn't a huge fan of chicken (which stinks for him b/c I am and I make it all the time!), but he said it was THE BEST CHICKEN he has EVER had! Pretty good for me since it took me all of about 5 min. to put together! We also had homemade mac and cheese (B's favorite) and crescent rolls. Man, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! Anyway, after I got supper in the crock pot B and I cuddled and played the rest of the afternoon. It was really nice to relax. I did get my laundry all done. When Ryan got home we ate and then he went to work in the front room, working on trim and window casings... it is tedious work to paint those window casings... but he got the big one done in the front room and it looks good! The trim and chair rail is all painted and ready to be put up tonight in there.

Here is a little sneak peak for you. (the trim is just resting on the wall). This is terrible and blurry b/c I took it with my phone. I think the picture makes the red look kind of pink and it's def. not...it's very red! Here is a little peak at the kitchen dining room area. You can see more of the cabinet and the counter top, but I was really taking the picture of my bar stools. I was a little disappointed b/c when I ordered them the bottoms were supposed to be black to match the captain chairs at our table, but when they came they were a dark wood. It took so long to get them I didn't want to mess with sending them back and getting the right ones... They look fine anyway and match the woodwork in the dining room so we're sticking with them! We have ate here at the bar every night since we got them- it's so much easier then clearing off the whole big table. It is also nice since we got new carpet and B is no longer allowed to have snacks or drinks in the front room b/c he can sit at the bar quick and I don't have to mess w/ the whole table. My island still isn't here... from what the cabinet man (haha) is telling me it is made at the shop and waiting to be painted. I feel kind of bad b/c all he has done for the past few weeks is work on house stuff so I'm trying not to be too pushy! I am dying to show you guys the finished products!
Tonight we will just be working on getting the trim/chair rail up in the front room and getting that room put back in order. I REALLY REALLY want to rearrange the furniture in that room, but there really just isn't any way to do it. We also are going to put the ceiling fan that's in the front room in our bedroom (our cord thing is broken and the fan is the orig. 1974 from when the house was built) and then get a new white one for the front room to match the new trim.
Okay, enough house stuff updates for now! :)
