Corbin Fisher

Sorry, I haven't updated my blog, but we have been busy spending time with our little guy in the NICU. I will write out his birth story and everything later, but he was born on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010! It is the day his big brother had picked out and said he was going to be here, he was right! He weighed in at a little tiny 5lbs 11oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. The dr's now think I wasn't quiet 37 weeks? It doesn't really matter at this point, but prob. explains a little better why C struggled w/ his breathing a little bit his first night. He had fluid on his lungs from my c/s as well. Since he was so worked up he couldn't eat and his blood sugar was a little low. He was never on oxygen. They had room air going in his nose so that he wouldn't have to work as hard so that he could rest! The NICU dr. took it out yesterday morning and he hasn't had a problem with out! He also started eating yesterday morning and they have been increasing his intake 3 cc's every 3 hours. I can't remember what he started at, but he was up to 33 (30 cc's is an oz) at his last feeding at 6am. We will get to feed him again at 9am. The NICU staff has been wonderful, but we want him out of there! We should know something this morning when the dr sees him, but the nurses all think he will get out today and that is what the dr was leaning towards yesterday since he has done so well! We will be glad to have him in our room! We don't mind visitors, but dr. said since he was early and had some issues with his breathing to not "pass him around". They don't want him getting really worked up yet and he still needs to rest quite a bit. It's okay for people to come look at him, but it will be awhile before a lot of holding can be done by anyone besides us. We don't want him to have be back in the NICU once he is out. Brycen is quite excited and can't wait to meet his little brother! B stayed all night with us at the hospital last night and he was an angel. He is currently watching Handy Manny and holding the giraffe he picked out for C! My hemoglobin was sort of low yesterday and it's gone down a bit more today so I might have to get some blood today... I really do feel great though! Honestly, I am on cloud 9, getting a unit of blood is nothing compared to what we've been through the past year and it def. won't bring us down! The dr. should be in to see me around noon and make a final decision about it. I will have a ton more pictures later, but we have been so busy going back and forth that I haven't had a lot of time to post. I do want to share him with ya'll right away though so this is a picture Ryan took on his phone. Thank you all for your prayers! We are so relieved to have C here safe and sound!!

Oh, Chelsea - CONGRATULATIONS! I obviously completely missed this until I heard from you yesterday. I'm so thrilled for you! Seriously - it has to just feel so amazing to have your precious Corbin i your arms finally!

I imagine, as you said, that there are still some adjustments - especially emotionally. I'll be praying for you and will love to hear how things go. Corbin is a precious gift. He belongs to the Lord. And the Lord is giving you this day with him. Rejoice!

Rejoicing with you!
