Day 10:
I will be sad when Corbin turns one, but I will NOT miss washing bottles all the time!
I will be sad when Corbin turns one, but I will NOT miss washing bottles all the time!
If I remember correctly B was only taking a bottle before bedtime from about 12-14mo.
When did ya'll start taking away daytime bottles?
What does a normal feeding schedule look like for an 11 month old?
Help me out momma's!
Right now Corbin gets a bottle when he wakes up- he normally wastes it and only takes around 3-4 oz.
He has oatmeal/banana or rice/fruit gerber cereal for breakfast (1/4 c. cereal 1/4 c. water)
He then takes a bottle before naptime (mid morning 9ish?)
When he gets up from naptime he usually plays a bit and then has a baby food (fruit) and probably a snack.
Before naptime (1:30ish?) he has another bottle.
Suppertime for him is around 4:30-5 and he has 2 jars of baby food (1 veggie, 1 fruit, or 1 meat).
When we eat supper I feed him some bites of what we're having.
Then he has a bottle before bedtime (which he normally only takes half of) these days.
When do I wean him to all big people food?
I don't remember questioning myself with B like this...
But I'm going to be honest with ya'll- I'm still terrified of him dying.
I don't let him have a lovey or blankie to sleep with.
I'm constantly checking his mouth when he looks like he is chewing on ANYTHING and a million other little things like that.
I'm paranoid.
I know he is in God's hands, BUT I can't seem to let it go.
Okay, not sure where all that came from, I really was just going to post about food, but ya know?!
He has had lots of different foods and done FINE with them all (mac-n-cheese, alfredo w/ spiral noodles, tiny bites of chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, applesauce, pretty much everything we have for supper too- tonight I fed him spaghetti and he loved it and did great with it... I just don't know how much to give him when he's not taking bottles!).

Oh Chelsa, I just wanna give you a BIG hug =) Love you girl! I fear often the same things...of my children dying. I think honestly it's a natural fear of moms to mess up raising our kids. Let me tell you Stella puts more in her mouth than any other child I've ever seen! I'm serious she will find ANYTHING I will sweep, mop...sweep mop and she STILL finds something!! I usually see her smacking her lips and know she put somethin in there!
On to eating....we have slowly been letting Stella eat off of our plates. But we eat horrible things (not healthy) so I sill try to feed her baby food 3xs a day. Usually when she wakes up in the morning, when she wakes up from her first nap and then for supper after her 2nd nap. She has 8 teeth now I think, but I still worry she cannot chew really well. She still gets at least 3 bottles of formula also!
She has her 1 year check up next week I think so I'll let you know what her ped says ;)
I can definitely understand with your past why you have that fear. I think that is definitely momma-nature! I think you have to keep praying that God will give you peace about and will allow you to let it go. I will pray that for you as well! BIG HUG!!!
Harris let us know when he was ready for table food. It is a MIRACLE if he will eat a jar of baby food at this point. It's all finger food. If possible, I give him whatever we are having - but tonight we had spicy gumbo so he just had some of the rice and then mixed veggies. I think C will let you know when he's done ;)
At 11 months, he had a bottle at 9 for nap, one at 1 for nap, sometimes one around 4 for 'snack', and then 1 at bedtime. They were mainly 6 oz. each. Now, we are on whole milk and switched last week exclusively to cups. My ped. said as long as he's getting 16 oz. in a day, he's good and if he's not getting that, make it up in yogurt and cheese so he gets enough calcium.
Sorry this is a novel! Hope it helps!
You are doing a FANTASTIC job and there is NO NEED to second guess yourself! You know what's best for your boys...just go with your gut ;)
You're not alone in your fears! Sam just got invited to his first birthday party (without mom)..havin some anxiety bout that! So onto bottles, Sam ended his bottle right at 12 mo after a bout with the flu. Personally I was sad about that, but he was using the cup fine. Joe was almost 18 mo, it helped with attachment issues since he came home over 1 year old..so use your instincts you know best!
Oh Miss Chelsa. My heart goes out to you. I am a pretty paranoid mom sometimes too. I think that is normal. Take refuge in the Lord. Only He can relieve your fears.
If I was you with bottle feeding.. I am all about scheduling haha So I would just start spreading out feedings. It sounds like he is already not wanted 2 of the bottles you make him. So spread out the ones that he takes. Like do 1 in am 1 in pm. Try giving him a sippie w lunch or snacks with water. You can find transitional nipples that will be easy to start him on. He should be eating 3 meals a day + snacks. The best advice I can give you is to try to break the habit of him taking a bottle with naps. This means he may rely on a bottle to go to sleep and when you move to go no bottle it will be hard!
I love you. Take a deep breath. You are a great Mama.
